Meth Injection without tuning??
Hey guys I am looking at installing a Water Meth kit on my lsa supercharged engine. It's running a 28% overdrive kit and putting out around 14psi at redline
Intake temps on the iat2 sensor are seeing around max temp of 140-150degrees Fahrenheit on a 30-140mph pull on the track Would I be safe in just installing the kit and not tuning for it? Just allow the iats to run cooler which then in turn would prevent it from pulling timing thus more power? I don't really feel comfortable with tuning to it so if I were to run out or have a problem with it the engine would blow. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated https://vimeo.com/140062986 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I've been running a meth kit just as you described. I've had ZERO issue. The only down side is you'll obviously run a little fatter on the AFR ratio, and leave a little power on the table. I'm using the Alky-Meth kit with their smallest nozzle (#3?), and 100% Meth. I spray pre-blower, and my IATs are always good. At the end of a 1/4 mile pass, I see maybe high 130's for IATs (>90*F ambient). Wish I had a data log to post.

I am running meth but I am tuned for it. really would be no different than your fuel pump quitting or an injector not working

You can run water only for cooling and not affect the tune at all. Ted.

Depends on how much you spray. Could go either way. With my setup, I had them do two dyno runs, back to back. One without meth, and one with meth. There was a +20RWHP difference between the two. Again, I'm not tuned for meth, as I am only using for a safety measure of added octane.

Custom tuning is required to take advantage of Water Meth. Ted.

Honestly, the tuning is simple, and worth every penny. When I added my second meth nozzle Matt tuned it remotely. Run 100 percent meth and get yourself tune. I don't know what the temp variance is with a blower on your setup, but I see 30 to 40 degrees temp drop on meth with my car.
