The same can be said about airplane crashes and train wrecks, but there not near as bad as Lambo doors!

Prejudice or not, it's hard to get past the idea that stealing the signature styling aspect of the car that defined the term supercar for an entire generation - for use on a mainstream sporty car - could ever have a 'right' reason. It comes off as being pretentious at best, or done strictly for the shock value in a manner similar to donks. Outrageous is almost by dictionary definition controversial.

I saw several cars with this mod only a couple of weeks ago at a Camaro car show held at a Chevy dealer local to me. So it's clearly not a Houston-only thing.

Unless it's a Lambo, I agree.

Lambo doors are like the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees, no real middle ground. You either love them or hate them.

If you are going to track or drag it, it is un-necessary weight. Reselling it will likely be harder. When others get in an out of your car and fling it open and are not as cautious, you will have panic attacks at the thought of them getting out of alignment. When you get tires, oil changed, etc or anything that requires someone else to get behind the wheel, you have to have a talk with the salesmen about getting in/out of the car. Unless you are ready for this, then avoid them.

I would rather talk to them and see if it's someone I wanna hang around. To the OP, if you decide to get them go with the VDI hinges as they are very robust and completely reversible if you want to go back to stock.

Ha ha ha, you just did.

Not all mod's are for everybody... I enjoy seeing other people's mod's and talking to them about it. If don't care for a specific mod I'm not going to insult the person. I love performance mod's as well.... cam, headers, superchargers but some people don't like that either. I say enjoy your car and don't be jerk and judgemental about the choices others make.

This is the only reason I have considered doing them, I hate how wide the doors swing open, and since Im not 140 pounds anymore, I need my doors open a bit more than normal...

The major reason why I havn't done it, the kits I have seen require cutting into the fender (inside where the door hinge is) and I just don't want to cut into the car to make a door work.

The only time I saw a Lambo door that made sense was an Aston Martin where the Driver was paralyzed and that allowed him to get closer to the car with his wheelchair. He had a cool electro-mechanical gizmo to pick up the wheelchair and put it in the rear seat.

I can't think of any pros to Lambo doors conversions. Maybe tight parking spots.

The one nice thing about lambo kits is that you can use the door in the normal fashion everyday. Then at shows you can tilt it up. You don't have to tilt it to use the door.

If I can't open my door all the way and not strike the other car, then he can't either, so I am not parking there.

Unless you are parking next to another Camaro that statement isn't correct. I park next to my bosses truck all the time, he can fully open his door, I cannot without touching his truck.

Good point, it was never me having to worry about dooring someone else. It's the guy you park beside. Maybe, if he had the Lambo kit.

You are correct (unless the car next to you has longer doors than a Camaro, but I get your point). It is just my rule of thumb. I stand partially corrected.
