Thanks everyone for the posts. This is an awesome site.

I plan on headers, T-Stat, and a CAI self installed, and a tune from Redline, luckily they are close to where I live. I'll just suffer till I get the tune I guess, but voided warranty is a bit scary

The skip shift eliminator simply has a single resistor (2,200 ohm - costs about a dollar - mine is 1 watt, that is plenty) across the connector terminals that plugs in to the two wires leading to the bypass solenoid. That resistor tricks the car in to thinking the wires are still attached to the bypass solenoid (places a small load on the circuit) so it will not throw a code after the solenoid is disconnected from the circuit.

It will not affect the reverse lock out solenoid.

I'd recommend double-checking whichever one you buy with an ohm meter to make sure resistance value is within specs before hooking it up (or build it yourself).

I think you and I seem to be the only people who get that concept...
Do people actually shift through every gear for normal "sunday driving"?? The only time my car gets in 2nd gear is when I'm trying to accelerate faster. 1st to 3rd.

So you are saying you can flash the Camaro's ECM without engaging the flash counter?

He's implying that, but it's not ever been proven true.

Exactly. That is the kind of crap that gives vendors a bad reputation.

I shift every gear. A 22 year habit I cannot break. I have developed a new habit, however - shifting from 1st to 3rd when the lockout kicks in.

Mine does a 1st to 4th skip shift, but only when 1st gear is at 6,600 RPM, 100% throttle, and the speed limit is 45...

I do get caught off guard every once in a while with the skip shift, usually in traffic or at an intersection. I'm surprised I haven't disabled it yet.

On the few occasions skip shift pops up.. I just give it a little more gas or if I'm paying attention to the display I go to 3rd or try 2nd twice. Drive it a little harder..
