That is awesome you did it yourself but sucks you had to deal with it. I'd be looking for a different dealer... Congrats on fixing it!

Well since going back and forth on the phone with the manager and letting him know I fixed the issue myself he offered to try and get me a extended warranty out of his pocket. He wants to show he actually cares and hated to see this situation happen to me. I accepted and just waiting to see if he can actually get me the extended warranty. I figured I might as well as my end goal is to have ADM do the LSA conversion but it's going to take me couple years to save the $$$.

Glad you got it fixed, hope they get you the extended warranty, probably cost the dealership less than pulling your car apart a few more times.

It's pathetic that anything beyond an oil change the dealership's techs are worthless. It's even worse when you had to do the research and fix it yourself. I would be all over GM (corporate)'s arse on this. Glad you got it fixed with the help of the good folks on here. Just another reason I'll never let my car into a dealership even though they are still pestering me over the seat recall.

Yea, it is sad. This makes me want to become a technician to help fellow owners and actually do jobs right but I heard it is a very unstable job. I have some pretty good OCD from being active military for 10 years and my entire career has been jet engine mechanic and I am always strict when it comes to fixes as we have people life's in our hands. I hate bringing my car back to the dealer also but I just wanted it on record just in case but after the last try I just took it upon myself as it was just getting absurd. I did get a hold of GM Corp. and they are now handling the situation and looking to refund me my $140 for the alignment I came out of pocket.

If your good and based on your posts I believe you are...start wrenching part time on the weekends. People WILL come to you if you do it right the first time. You just dealt with the dealer, I've read enough horror stories on here of "performance shops" that can't get it right. See how it goes, if it takes off, then move to a small shop in a business complex and give it a whole hearted effort at being self employed. You sound like a internally driven person and a push in the right direction is all you might need. So here is your proverbial push.

Agree 100%, good dealer techs are few and far between. If you were to start on a part time basis ans see what happens. Word would spread like wild fire and you will soon have a real business.
I go to an ind. shop, the owner started in a dealer and became tired of the way customers were treated. Go for it and best of luck to you.

Thanks for the kind words! At my last base I started a small detail shop as I became in love with paint correction. I was pretty anal with my Corvette and my fellow workers always saw how clean my car was and asked what I did. My little detail business took off and I had a car almost weekly! It was my passion and so were cars. It has always been my dream to have a self owned detail business but I just don't know how to go about it. I am going to look into finding perhaps a part time job as a mechanic or internship once I get to Fort Worth, TX as I am moving in about 60 days. Right now I am locking down my job with Lockheed Martin and then my search for being a mechanic or even a detailer will begin. I would hope with my 10yrs experience as a jet engine mechanic would be helpful in landing myself a internship or part time job as a technician.

Well GM was nice enough to give me a 7year 100k mile extended warranty and I just had the standard warranty. Not shabby at all to me.
