There is a post on C5 which explains how to get playlists working on windoze. Here's the Mac version that I figured out:

_ Open iTunes
- Export Playlist As ... choose M3U
- Open the file with textedit and remove the address of mp3 all that is before the folder / volumes / nome_usb /

EXAMPLE: to:
/ Users / Tim / Music / iTunes / iTunes Media / Music / Nightwish / Century Child/01 Bless The Child.mp3
to:
Nightwish / Century Child/01 Bless The Child.mp3
(you can change them all via the "Find and Replace" in TextEdit,
looking for: / Users / Tim / Music / iTunes / iTunes Media / Music /
and replacing with "nothing")

EXAMPLE:
#EXTINF:304,TI03 Wine Of Aluqah - Therion
Therion\4 Vovin\TI03 Wine Of Aluqah.mp3

- Replace / with \
(you can change them all via the "Find and Replace" in TextEdit,
looking for:
and replacing with \)

- Save
_ Put the. M3u file on the USB drive (not inside any folders)

test it
Thanks! I'll give it a shot.

I read somewhere you could play WAV on the new MyLink but I also read that you can't mix audio types like MP3 and WAV on the same drive. Have you tested that?

I have the standard radio from the 2011 model year, usb flash drive just plays everything in alphabetical order. I really like the my link, tried a flash drive in my brothers Cruze and it played it just like it was an MP3 player, displaying all the album art and all. maybe a few years down the road when I get my next SS I can enjoy the nicer touch screen Can't afford the amount of crap it takes to convert it!

I have used several USB Flash drives, verbatim, Lexar and SanDisk. They all work well. I set my music up in different folders like Rock, Classical, R&B, Country & Jazz then select the folder from the mylink menu and it works so much better than having a bunch of CD's also I put everything on at 320kbps very good sound quality not audiophile like a CD, but pretty close to my ear.

I have moved my flash drives to several different vehicles, BMW's, Toyota Camry, Benz and also a 2012 ZL1 that is none mylink and they have worked. How are you copying or transferring your music to your flash drive? Are you able to play your flash drive on any other device (computer, another vehicle)?

You must format the flash drive to FAT, NTSF and HFS+ won't work.

FAT can't handle a drive that big.

If you rip at 320k, 16 GB can hold 900 songs.

It will, you just need to use a different tool other than Windows Format. Anything on Linux will, and there are several windows applications out there that will. Off the top of my head there is one called swiss army knife. But just google it, there are plenty.

Actually FAT can, it just depends on the version of FAT you are formatting it too. FAT32 and exFAT (FAT64) can support well over 64 GB, they can support 2TB and 128PB respectively.

A 16GB should be able to hold signifcantly more than 900 songs, unless they are extremely long songs. I would say an average MP3 320k song (3:30 to 4:00 minutes) is about 10MB which would put a 32GB drive at around 3200 songs.
