Collinite 845 vs Jet Seal Any Ideas?

Hey all,
Sorry to have been a ghost on the boards for a while. Dealing with a Mom in Law that is terminal ill with kidney cancer and all that entails.

A while back when I started my new job (June of 2015, that short a time) and before all the personal stuff, I bought a cool carbon fiber heat extractor vent for my 2014 from Nathan Moreno, made by Siebon. It looks amazing and I want to put it on.

I researched (and it's really not clearly stated on any carbon fiber supplier site) but these pieces are NOT clear coated on manufacture, only gel coated. This can cause long term issues with UV fading etc, you know all that.

I hardly drive my car now (too long a commute into city) so I figured as she is garaged 95% of the time a good protectant should work. I bought the Chemical Guys Jet Seal for the hood vent.

So my question. I LOVED the Collinite 845 I put on last winter. It worked crazy good and I could not be happier. Any reason to try the Jet Seal on the general car this winter, or stick with what I know?

Thanks in advance.

No one here has used Jet Seal? Come on guys, need input. I was blown away by the Collinite last year, so I am biased.

love all the collinites, just used 845 and followed it with a layer of Megs #26, darkened and has a deep shine. almost ink like. previously gave the paint a lite polishing before applying. I can see the imperfections but most people think I am crazy, they would kill for a shine like that on there daily driver! sorry never used the jet seal

Thanks jshaf. The 845 really blew me away after the winter we had up here, just unreal protection. I will just go with that for this winter again. I only drive the car on weekends now anyway since I changed jobs, so I am sure she will be well protected.

I use the 845 in the summers when I wax more frequently, use it as a base then layer a good carnuba over it for a few months than polish if need be and repeat. the 476 double coat wax is my winter wax. put it on in november by itself and it's still there in april!

I have used 845 for a few years now, I see no reason to change.

Back in march 2014 I put 2 coats of jetseal on the car and jetseal matte ont the hood. I then put a coat of Dodo juice supernatural on that. I wash the car weekly with either gerry dean's detail juice or dodo juice low on eau. Meticulous Matte Detailer Spray Sealant goes on the hood and Hybrid V7on the rest. This car is a daily driver and I don't have a garage just a carport. jetseal is working so far as i can tell.

Why not take it and have it clear coated?

Lazy, lack the time. I figure a good protectant should be good enough.
