Thank you so much! I'm glad someone understands how much I value time with my grandfather.

Well, it turns out, it was more involved and someone felt the need to say 'I told you so'. I'm sure you knew this 'could' happen and it has. So, if you want to finish the project, then you now know it will take an exact year donor. Everyone goes through failures -- we're human. Now, recover and go find that donor and finish the project -- no matter 'what' you encounter. Learning what 'not' to do is as important as learning what 'to' do. Sometimes you need to learn the hard way. EVERYONE has at some point -- even the ones that say 'I told you so'. How do you think they can say 'I told you so'? They either lived it or know someone who did -- doesn't make it feel better, but we have to live and deal with them. Its all part of life...

You have a learned a life lesson -- now, go overcome it and make it happen. Don't let failures prevent you from succeeding. Learn from your failures and move forward. Take it from someone who's had a lot of 'I told you so' comments and never let that stop me from learning and succeeding. IF you have to start over, then that's what you do -- if you want to complete your goal. When doing things no-one else had succeeded doing, you'll encounter unknowns or 're-learned' what others encountered -- find the way and make it happen.

Time is precious -- so if you're goal is to make a go of it -- don't let this one stop you. It is YOUR time and money -- YOU get to choose -- no-one else...

Don't give up -- find your way and make it happen. If the task IS too daunting, find another way or another option... You have learned quite a bit as well as what to do with successes and failures -- now, what are you going to do with those lessons?

-Don

Let me leave this quote, as when I was younger, it always guided me and why I never considered things failures:

From Thomas Edison:

'I didn't fail. I just found 2,000 ways NOT to make a light bulb. I only needed to find one way to make it work.'

So, find that one way to make it work...

That may be my dream plan at some point in the future. I get attached to my cars so it will still be the same car just a different heart right lol

And yeah, I get working with your dad. When I got my 72 Continental just like my dad had back when I was a kid he got a kick out working on it as much as I did. Was a great time that nobody can take away from me

Im not sure if this thread is dead but maybe someone can enlighten me. I have a 2014 2ls. I want to know if its possible to drop ls3 or will i face the same fate?

Also what about alternatives like Supercharging or Twin Turbo. Sorry if I'm asking noob questions. New to the 5th gen. Thanks!

Trade it in and get a V8,don't waste your time.

Trust me it will be cheaper in the long run.
