There really isn't much of a fade, you only notice it when you look for it and even then it's really hard to see. I did take some pictures right after I removed the stripes and what you see in the rear trunk lid is adhesive and a little bit of dust more than anything. I will take closeup pictures of the hood and deck lid on Thursday when I am off to show you how it looks after I detailed it.

I was worried so I just pulled off small section just to see how bad of the fade it would be, but it really wasn't bad so I decided to pull it off and you really can't tell there was ever stripes.
Excellent Information, I really appreciate that.

I have been wanting to do this but was afraid of the fade since My car is a 2011. My wife never really liked the stripes and they seem not to look as good as the rest of the car when cleaned.

You can plastidip your hood spears. Get some frog tape and a can of plastidip. Itll take a couple hours max. I did mine when in was gray and they were on for over a year with no problems. It was planned to see if I liked it before I used vinyl to do it, but it turned out great so I left it. If nothing else its a cheap "mod" to see what you like.

Here are the pictures promised. I tried to get a real good pictures of the fade, but like I said before it is hard to see. The one that stands out most is on the trunk and spoiler, mostly the spoiler. Otherwise, the one on the hood you really can't tell there was ever stripes on the car. Look at the car from a small distance and you can't see the fade unless you really look for it or know that it is there.

As of right now I am going to leave it as is. I really like how the car looks at the moment. Maybe in the future I may change my mind, not sure yet. Thanks for your help.

I have used plasti dip before to do stripes on my 2010 1LT to see if I liked them before purchasing the set, but I am not a big fan of the matte finish. I have tried the glossifier to give the matte a glossy finish, but I prefer vinyl instead.
