Summit Point Raceway, West Virginia
We'll be at VIR with SSsoon October 25th and 26th and his beast of a Camaro. He'll be running fresh 325/30/19 rubber all a round. Spectators are welcome and the pits are open. |

Pete, you should take that black SS to the track and blow out the cobwebs. It been texting me that it feels neglected having sat in the shop so long.

Oh Pete...here goes a sleepless night....what wheels and tires are those? Also, any more pictures of the brake ducting and routing?
How did you guys validate the aero to know it works laptime wise? Man, I would love to try that stuff out at grattan and see if it gains. By the way, that spoiler is not designed to take such a moment on it, it will crush against trunk, wear paint and deform the metal. Do something for reinforcement if you can, maybe triangulation pieces from back of wicker bill that glues to back of trunk. 3 of them should do fine.

At the same time, the rear blade grew taller. I am AMAZED that blade has not ripped the factory spoiler off the car. In fact, I told my client I don't think the rear spoiler can carry the load. To date it has held up in testing and his track days. Apparently the designers at GM have a HUGE safety factor built in to the rear spoiler design. HUGE. I very much appreciate your comments. Many of the things I do with the 5th Gen are way outside OE parameters. Some, like your spoiler comment, are expected. Others catch me by surprise. Some I guess at and later get confirmed by a post or a PM. The one thing I have done and it has served me well on occasion is go ahead and test what I have been told will not work. Most of the time the GM information is dead nuts ball on accurate. Other times it works and works really well. In summary on the V3 Aero Package, we have tested it at speeds up to 170 MPH and found it to have significantly improved vehicle dynamics on track. Wind tunnel tested with data, man I wish but with tunnel time at $2,000 and hour it is beyond my R&D budget. Do we think it works by seat of the pants and sparks flying - we do. The wheels are Forgeline GA3R 19x11 and 19x11.5 with bolt on track ready center caps, TPMS sensors and lug nuts. Retail shipped in our continental 48 is about $7,900. These are the only wheels I know of to carry an ON TRACK WARRANTY for USE WITH SLICKS. My Forgeline pricing is very aggressive my clients builds. Very aggressive. I want my clients cars to perform at the highest possible level with the great confidence in safety and there is no better wheel at any price (IMO). Thank you for participating in the C5 community. I look forward to meeting you at some future event. Last edited by JusticePete; 10-11-2015 at 04:31 PM. Reason: gramar and clarity |

Cant beat taking it to 170mph and some feedback on that rear not really flexing that much, I can respect that. By the way I didnt sleep much last night and probably the 10th time since last night I am looking at those pictures again.
That wheel price made me drop my iPad and scream out load man. Anything they do to prevent tire rotation like the z/28 wheels?

The Z28 spoiler comes with some spacer grommets to protect paint but you don't need to worry about deformation due to placement. It's very close to the edge so the structure and vertical edge are bracing the sheet metal already. If it were a big wing that mounts further forward then you'd be crushing sheet metal or ripping the front bolts out.
