I was at the NHMS track yesterday and there was a guy with a C7 Z07. He told me he used Motul 300 oil and overheated and switched to mobil 1 and stayed cooler. He did not tell me if he used different grades though. He also mentioned that 310 is the limit not 320.

I personally don't like Redline products. You claimed it gunked up at 240 coolant temps which is true that it gunks up, I had that oil issue and the D4 ATF I have in the tranny breaks down when temps get hot. 3 products from them I will switch from and no longer use. I heard from countless users with other cars domestic and foreign that lost engines due to Redline. I call it the engine killer.

What about this process of continually increasing the capabilities of the car and the corresponding increases in load on the engine confuse you?

I for one would have expected better from a serial poster like you.
I never even consider warranty for me: I do have a tune, and more importantly, I did remove OEM oil cooler, and they could easily claim that as the cause, and it could indeed be the cause (refer to oil pressure impact discussions right in this thread). However, my brother's 1LE has none of that but he goes to track, too. It'd not be fair to get his car's warranty denied just for the oil type, and we should know what we can use. You have to realize this forum is not my personal journal, and it's for everyone to benefit from information. Running into assumptions, and doing insults is very disappointing.

Hey X25, I got an Idea. How about you run your brother's car at a track where you tracked yours with the current mods and let's see how your brothers setup does against yours. Also guys can we kiss and make up now and please stop the food fight. Who's in the mood for Bud light and Rib eye steak with coconut shrimp on the side.

He's a faster driver, and it will be very interesting to see! He's expecting a baby next month, though, so he's not available this season. Hopefully next year!

No problem. I'm happy to help in any way I can. That's what these forums are for.

I have not called you out individually, mentioned your C5 name, referenced you or insulted you in this thread until you made post 231. Go back and read my posts right up to and including your disappointment in me as a vendor.

There is valuable information in this thread including my heads up about track use and how mods outside of engine and drive line still directly impact engine and drive line wear and possibly warranty.

Now would be a good time to put your big boy pants on and let the thread get back to business.

I think you decided to take it personally and got your feelings hurt. Time to move on.

And looks like it's OK for you guys when posters call each other to man up. Good to know, moving on and out.
