Is it normal to get a CEL after tuning?

anyone have this happen? installed LT with high flows, installed tune about a day later, after going WOT to pass someone I noticed the CEL came on. car seems to be running great, so is there a period of "learning" for the PCM after headers? I cleared it and sent a message to my tuner but probably won't hear back til tomorrow, thought I would ask to see if anyone else has had this happen and if it was normal

Yeah I agree.. It's not normal unless they haven't removed all the necessary codes needed when you install long tubes. Even with High Flow cats, the rear 02 sensors only read Exhaust Gas Temperatures to show you a CEL. More flow to the sensor would lead to a hotter temperature reading.

It's not normal, but it can happen. It's likely that your tuner just overlooked a setting. I'm betting it's a delayed response from the O2 sensors. What code is it throwing? If you don't have a scanner, just pull into any Autozone and they'll take a look for free.

1153 primarily, got an new version already loaded on the vehicle. hopefully this will kill the CEL and codes. time to test in a couple days when the weather clears up a bit.

I recently ran in to a problem with 1133 and 1153 code mysteriously coming on after I tuned a car with Diablo.

I turned them off but they still came on.

Turns out there is a problem with the Template that opens the tune file.

Diablo is fixing it now and we should have a fix in the next couple days.

Ted.

OK, was able to take "Shock wave" out for a round of spirited driving and I think we have it on point, couple WOT pulls and no CEL. sounds like a beast and was being blasted back in the seat like never before. temps around 60 degrees so somewhat cooler which is always good
