Help please

My cousin bought my 2010 1LT Camaro automatic with about 64,000 miles. I have never had any issues with the car and about a month after I sold her the car she texted me this video asking me what is that rattling/ticking noise and is it normal. I have never heard it before and I told her to stop by my house so i can check it out. The rattling/ticking seems to be coming from the bottom of the dash beneath or next to the stereo. The sound is not coming from anywhere in the engine bay, it is just inside the car that you hear it. Could you guys please help me find out what the noise is and is it normal?

It is really difficult to hear what the problem noise is on your clip. Besides the noise is there any systems experiencing problems?

The only thing I can think of inside the cabin is the actuator for setting the destination for the blower upper/lower/both or the blending used to adjust cold/heat.

yeah what is she doing when this occurs? I'm guessing a blower or fan is not aligned or trying to spin but can't. Need to know what she is doing or has on when this occurs?

Sorry, that clip was the best we had, we could not capture the sound in real good quality. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the car at this moment. I took the car for a spin and checked fluids and the engine bay and found nothing out of place. The car runs fine and sounds fine from the outside. Once the car is turned off however, inside of the car in the dash area you hear that rattling/ticking noise. The car is turned off and in park. She said this is the first time she ever heard the noise before.

Don't the radios have a built in fan that runs for a minute or so after shut off to cool the insides?

Suggest disconnecting the battery to see if that resets whatever is causing that noise. could it be a solenoid switch?

From what I can hear it sounds to me like a small fan hitting something that may have gotten sucked up into it...I believe there is a cooling fan in the radio/media system.

Sounds like it's the blend door actuator to me. If that's what it turns out to be, they're about $40 to $50 dollars. But a pain in the arse to get to.

Sorry I cannot help but I would never sell a car (or anything that involves money) to family and friends.

Good luck.

Update, the car has not made that noise since that first night and runs perfectly fine, no issues.

JLSuperfly, I normally do not sell anything to friends or family either, but my little cousin really wanted my Camaro. When she found out that I was thinking about getting another Camaro she insisted on wanting to buy mine. I knew the car had no issues when I had it, because I babied the heck out of it. My cousin is doing the same, she asks me for advice too sometimes on how to maintain the car. I have no problems helping her out, she's like a little sister. This is the only problem that has come up since I sold her the car.

Brother-in-laws Camaro had similar issue....turned out to be an issue with the recirculation door in the dash!
