Curing Knock Retard?

Recently I've been running into bad 93 pump gas which gives me some pretty decent KR readings. One tank was up into the 6.0 at WOT area and the last tank was in the 3-4 area at WOT. Got a decent batch of gas currently with KR at 0-.5 at WOT.

So question is, which would be better to boost octane is a bad gas situation...... A can of octane booster (such as Torco) or some sort of race gas added to the tank (such as C10/C16)?

A can of torco per tank would do the trick.

thanks for the response Ted.

As far as price goes, Torco 32oz can states it can boost octane rating for 20 gallons 93 octane +4 so 97 octane. Would it be easier and more cost efficient to add an actual race gas, ie. buy race gas in bulk (5/15 gallons) rather than 20 dollars per bottle for Torco.

I have no experience with Torco or race gas so your expertise or a tuners expertise would be greatly appreciated.

Race gas would cost a lot more to get a mix of 20 gallons of 97 octane than a single bottle of torco

Torco is Race fuel concentrate, you add it to pump fuel according to the ratio chart to obtain the octane you want to achieve.
32 oz raises 20 gallons of fuel 4-5 octane points.

Torco is essentially concentrated MMT. It leaves orange haze/deposits (amount dependent on amount of Torco used) on the motor internals. Race gas does not. Mix in 5 gallons of VP MS100 (orange) with a full tank and you'll be around 95 octane for a full tank. More expensive, but no deposits and a nice smell from the exhaust. MS109 if you want a higher net octane. The stoich isnt too far off from E10 pump.

I know you've had good luck on supercharged cars making more power and eliminating knock. Would it have the same benefits on a turbo car? Able to run more boost or more timing and make more power than regular 93?

Install the complete Elite E2-X Ultra Catch Can system and it will reduce the KR. Log before and after for proof.

Meth injection does wonders and is way cheaper than Torco

Don't see why it would not help. It raises the overall octane.
