2011 convert to the touchscreen radio

I have a 2011 SS and busted the screen to my radio. I would like to have the later model touch screen. Does anyone know if I can add that touchscreen radio in my car? Also I've looked at pictures on the web but do not see where you can insert cd's. Does it even have a cd player? Also if I do not go the touchscreen route and I just need my screen replaced can that work or do I have to replace the whole head unit?

Search the forum. It's been done lots. Gen5diy is the site that sells the kit minus faceplate.

How do you bust a screen to your radio? Are you hauling lumber?

There are fairly cheap aftermarket head units that you may enjoy with out breaking the bank with touch screen etc.......

If I were in your situation I would look at aftermarket with a install kit.. it won't be cheap either way but you have lots of choices at least with a touchscreen, bluetooth, cd, nav etc without being limited to the factory options.

Cheapest route would be to replace what you have.. There must be some out there fairly inexpensive.

I have this in another car and love it.. Pioneer AVH-X3600BHS .. It has been replaced with a newer model so not on a shelf everywhere but still can find new. The line itself is nice and works great. Never had any issues. Soo many options out there.. Check out Crutchfield just to see what is out there and options you want.. They are expensive so shop around if you see something you like.

If my XM was not still working with my factory radio I would have done it already. Not sure when it will run out but I will do it then.
