Started to get ready to JB Weld the cracks and noticed another crack starting off the main one after I cleaned the area. The bottom of the main crack is in the joint of the upper and lower parts. The middle one is inside, but not fully showing on the outside.

Don't think it is salvageable, Jason@JacFab will probably know for sure.

I'd pull it off, and just fill in that whole section, drill and tap for some bolts to keep from blowing the fill off from the boost. See below. 4 bolts may be over kill, but i figured one in the cracked area will allow you to tighten it up and pull that section back into place.

I wouldn't throw it away.

I'll work on it, rough up that panel with sandpaper to give the stuff something to grip as well.

Are these LFX manifolds used on the LF3?

Wonder if these intakes can handle sustained boost. With the converter I'm hitting boost instantly and hard.

I have JB Weld curing right now, rather try the LFX again after getting the LLT one from the attic, felt like it weighed 200 lbs after lifting the LFX one.

I had a crack in my manifold, about 1 1/2 - 2" Used RTV , that was about a year ago and it's holding good.

On your LLT intake ? Wow didn't think that would be possible seeing it's built like a brick outhouse !

I tend to overthink and/or over build things... I wouldn't trust that crank in an LFX intake to just RTV. An LLT intake, possibly... I attempted to open up an LFX intake once... It started out all nice, trying to pry between the top and bottom halfs where they are joined together with a screw driver... Then it went onto a screw driver and a hammer and finally... It escalated to me beating the ever living shit out of it in the vise with a big ass steel pipe! I'm really surprised the magnumforce intake cracked... The only thing that comes to my mind is that perhaps this factory material doesn't like the meth?

I'm not certain, but I believe you are the only that has run, or is running meth MFGB? It may just be a fluke.

Yes, the LLT intake does feel like it weights about 200lbs. LOL

Don't know if the meth would have weakened it, especially since it wouldn't be in that area. At the rear I could understand but not the front beside the throttle body. Do you have an intake manifold that you could pressurize to 20 psi?

Since I had my intake manifold off, took pictures of what my intake valves look like after 52k miles. They used to be worse but the meth is cleaning them off, #6 got a lot of the meth from when I was running the nozzle too far away from the throttle body.

Awesome, thanks for doing the test. That will show if the manifold can handle the pressure for sure. I don't think it was a backfire since that would have been a lot more damage. Also, I wonder if the intake manifold is made out of the same material as my methanol storage tank, both are dark plastic.
