GPI 378 CI 650 RWHP ALL MOTOR!!

Hey guys and gals,

Here is a nice article that was done on the setup I just built for my car. Long story short my car was stolen, but recovered (thank God), and I decided since it had some mechanical damage to build it up a little bit.

Goal is to get in the 9s Naturally aspirated.

Motor build is setup to run E85, stock stroke, and turn some RPMS (8200 to be exact). I am running a induction setup using a 4bbl throttle body for big flow, on top of a Super Victor manifold, and driving the 4bbl TB with a modified factory TB setup and linkage.

I then talked to the COPO guys and Patrick at Vararam Ind. about an airbox. Patrick built me an "Experimental" airbox to work with my top mount throttle body. Air flow is not an issue!

650 rwhp open/race exhaust setup. 620 rwhp through 2.5 full street exhaust!

Very nice. It would be nicer to see some of this stuff trickle down to us common folk.

Congrats Ryan, Your dedication to out of the ordinary is exemplary.

The similarities between our race engines are uncanny, except for the LS clothing, I have a traditional Small block 377 with TI rods 760 crank HP at 7600, and Same TB with FAST EFI

There is another 40 HP with a Tunnel ram and dual 4 barrels available, Just saying

Ted.

Ryan,

You really have done something great here. There are innovators in this world and then there are duplicators. You have been setting the bar on innovation. Keep it up man, My hat is off to you. Let me know when your ready for a tube chassis?

That intake is really cool. Kind of making me want to get the tune version of the vararam for my car. Just need the back piece....

NICE build! There's a lot of interest for a DBW 4-holer. How much rpm will the stock ecm support?
