[QUOTE=CamaroFemme;871231]I specifically asked (each time) when I can expect my car, not when they will accept my order. I know my workbench number and continually bug Viz for tracking. [/QUOTE

If you can find out from your dealer when he will have an allocation slot available, you can better guess when you will have your car. Probably 8-10 weeks after that date, although I am not sure how much the production constraint on the SS will impact that figure, it could be longer. As for the other post for the guy who ordered his car in June and already received it, that can be possible if the dealer has allocation.

No problem. I'm in the same boat, so I've already gone through and asked all the same questions. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Is GM supposed to be taking allocations monthly or weekly from dealerships? I thought I've heard monthly... this dealer taking 2 per month, while that one takes 3... but it looks like I've seen a lot of people commenting on weekly allocations?

Allocations were monthly up until the last week or so. GM is doing weekly allocations through 9/17 I believe.

Does that mean a dealership who was originally doing 2 allocations per month should now be doing 2 allocation a week, at least for the next few weeks?

No, it just means that each dealership gets allocation slots on a weekly basis, instead of monthly. The last I saw, this will only be occurring for the next 2 weeks or so. You will have to talk to you dealer and find out what their allocation schedule is, as it is different for each one.

Sounds like they have no allocation.

Call Anna Bearinger at Sparta Chevy in Michigan....she has an unclaimed 2SS auto coming in real soon. MSRP, discounts honored.

My question is: is that even possible? If it isn't, what's a good estimated day of arrival?
Well... my salesman told me today that he had several orders skipped by GM in yesterday's allocation pull. They were ALL SS's. GM took all the V6's & left the V8's. SS's are now on constraint until the end of the model year. GM will only be producing a few SS's. So, in answer to your question... probably not gonna see it anytime soon, unless it's ALREADY reached 3000 status.

I just need to vent!!!

I just spoke to our dealership this morning, after placing our order 3 weeks ago, and he said that they got an allocation for an SS, but not an LT, which is what I have ordered. Oh, and my order had to be recalibrated last week after the addition of the back up sensors, and they didn't get an allocation anyway. Oh, and when we placed our order, 3 weeks ago, they had been getting allocations out the wazoo, but now, nothing. Oh, and when we placed our order, 3 weeks ago, there were customers ahead of us that had their cars built within a week of ordering. If it didn't mean losing our $1000 deposit, I would chuck the whole thing until my Soldier get's home from Iraq, cause if that car is not sitting in my driveway before he deploys, he is going to be the most miserable human being on the planet! OK - I feel better now, thanks for reading the rant!
