Picked one up today, if you can grab one at 56500, well worth it and then some. I think the dealer incentive ends Monday though.

I can attest to the pricing as I just purchased a new Z at a dealer near my work. They had the car probably since February as the inspection stickers indicate. I walked in during my lunch hour and the dealer basically handed me a 3”x3” piece of paper and asked me to write the pricing I wanted. I saw a Z on eBay that morning where the dealer had it priced at $56,990. So I wrote that price down he went to the manager and he came back 5 minutes later with a sales agreement filled out. Done!! Best sales experience I ever had. Nice thing is that the car only had 13 miles and it sat in the corner of the showroom the entire time they had it.

The black 2015 Z/28 at the dealer by my house is at $58,915 right now. It has A/C and the outdoor car cover.

I give it 10 years and these cars will double at least. (My opinion only!) Of course I'm saying that because I have one!

Will the Z/28 eventually appreciate in value? Hard to say, but look at the pricing of a 997 GT3 Porsche and it may make you just say - maybe. I feel the Z/28 is the answer to a question that maybe not a lot of people were asking – Chevy make the most track capable car you can and still sell it at a Chevy price. In light of the dealers having left over Z/28’s at huge discounts it makes you wonder if Chevy should have decided to make the Z/28 a one up HP car like the Dodge Hellcat. Make it lighter and give it a 427 with a blower and people would be knocking down the dealer’s door. I’m for one glad that Chevy made this car and made it the way they did. It’s amazing to me every time I drive it. The engine, manual transmission and the specialized damping on the suspension make it so damn wonderful. There plenty of cars out there that will out drag it but if that’s all that’s important to you, you’re missing the point. I plan on using mine up for me, not saving it for the next guy or gal. I’m just glad there are people out there that do save their cars and in 30 years their cars may be worth what a ’69 Z/28 is to my generation.

Supply and demand in action here. Simply speaking, there's not a big current demand so prices have to fall. And this will hit the used scene too if it hasn't already. Great for buyers, bad for sellers. Where's the bottom? When, if ever, it'll rebound and prices go up is anyone's guess.
I predict at least 20 years or more, if at all, because most millennials aren't into American hot rods and don't care about Z cars like most of us do. I also think they'll never hit the same percentage increases as the 1st gens when/if they ever do go up in price. If you don't believe me that prices are soft right now, take your ZL1 or Z/28 to the dealer and see how much they'll give you for it. And be thankful there's no other external forces driving prices down even further, such as high gas prices or the fact they're not unleashing a Z/28 or ZL1 right out of the gate for 2016. The only way the current Z cars will gain in value any time soon is if GM messes up the Gen 6 comparable version(s). By all means, if you had a hankering for a new 5th gen Z/28 or ZL1, go out and get them while they last. Whatever flavor you like. I don't think you could ever go wrong with a ZL1 or Z/28. Just enjoy your Camaros.
