NCD! !! (new camaro day)

Finally broke down and bought a new one. Bought a 2015 1SS 1LE, only options are navigation and rear cam. Really wish it had the Recaros and the NPP, but got a great deal, so can't complain. So, now am searching for axle back, CA I, and that's about all for now.

Well, I recently learned a lot about the stock exhaust.
For one.. the HUGE cans that I previously thought were just bloated bricks are actually housing a Helmholtz resonator, ie... a J-pipe and drone eliminator and it breathes just fine. Your bottlenecks are going to be headers and cats.
Take the roughly 800 ish you were going to blow on axleback and put on catted headers for a couple hundred more.
In addition to your CAI and ported throttle body, you're looking at 40+ HP gain.

Also get your catch can on the list...

Oh and beautiful car... Welcome to the club...

Congrats. Careful of the front splitter around those curbs.

That's where the salesman parked it after they detailed it, lol. I more than likely won't go long tube chatted, and IMHO shorties are a waste. I need to stay legal, and not really going to do much until the warranty is up. Lol
Paul84043, where did you find info on the stock exhaust?

Thanks for the replies guys. I bought it Monday evening, then Tuesday flew out to west Texas for my 2 week work hitch. I get to play with it more thanksgiving.
My previous maro was a 99 Z28. I've had several 3rd Gen, and 2 first gets, but nothing like this, lol

Congrats on the new 1LE . In fact the stock cat back flows as well as most any aftermarket cat back . It is very quiet though and if you want some sound/rumble it will need to go . There is no horsepower to be found replacing the factory cat back . If you want some sound the Stainless Works Retro cat back has an old school mussel car sound . You may be the only 1LE in Texas running factory exhaust manifolds and cats . My bet is you will have Long tubes and HF cats by this summer.

I have a friend and fellow forum member that has been doing some exhaustive research on exhaust mods, no pun intended..
I've learned more about exhaust systems in the past two weeks than ever before..

You can slap on an axleback for the sound, but you're probably going to run into drone issues.
Then you get into J pipes, X pipes, X pipe resonators... it goes on.
Check out Solo, they have a very inexpensive line that comes with integral resonators that eliminate drone.
The Magnaflow X-pipe/resonator has also received good reviews and has the benefits of a true X-pipe replacing your H pipe.

Take the red pill or the blue pill, they both still lead down the rabbit hole.

Car has NPP no need for axle back, just fuse pull and drive on.
