Issues with my V6 (only 3k miles)

Hi,

I'm new to the Camaro family and was wondering if the issue with my vehicle is actually considered normal, as described by two Chevy dealers.

I took my vehicle (2015 - V6 - AUTO) to a local Chevy dealer for service due to a LOUD metal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when taking off at "parking lot speed". This noise would only occur in the mornings and/or when the vehicle was parked for long periods of time. The technician said it was normal and that it was due to the ABS Initialization test. I found this very odd, I never heard of a brand new vehicle making LOUD (metal) noises.

I took the vehicle to another Chevy dealer for a second opinion, they basically said the same thing.

Now the vehicle makes the same noise every time I turn the vehicle on and take off, regardless of how long it was parked.

Has anyone encounter this issue? I have a hard time believing this issue is normal.

Thank you

Drive it until something breaks, you're under warranty for quite a while.

Do you also notice it when going in and out of reverse? Just one loud knock? I had a 2012 RS V6 and it did it. I saw a vid once of some wheel hub device that stopped it. But if what I described here is what's happening then as much you don't want to hear it (no pun...) it is normal. As opposed to "abinormal!"

Post and do a search in the Camaro issues section. What your describing doesn't sound normal to me.

My old Titan used to do that first thing in the morning. A loud metallic noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when first starting out to drive it down the block. Like what they told you, the sound was from the ABS system and it was nomal. However, I haven't heard any sounds like that coming from my Camaro yet.

I used to have a "clunk" noise when on reverse; however, that was fixed using a TSB I found on a thread here on camaro5.com

you sure it's not flash rust scrubbing off your rotors?
I don't have anything like that happening on my 15... but my ABS/Traction control is REALLY overactive at low speed.

Hmmmm. I get a bit of brake rotor noise if the rotors are rusty from dew/rain, but it goes away after a couple of braking cycles. That's happened on every disc-brake vehicle I've owned, not just the Camaro.

I was getting some "thunking" noises (sounded like metal binding and popping loose) in the rear end of my pickup truck on wet days when cornering; replacing the rear axle seals and differential fluid resolved that issue.

No noise like that on mine.....knock on wood. I don't think it should be considered "normal". If I paid $25K-$35K for a car, I sure the hell don't want it making metallic clunking noises. Dealer better fix it.

That's what I'm saying. Brand new vehicle and I have to listen to this every single time, SMH.

Don't notice anything like that on mine. Maybe the weather affecting it? Regardless, a video or clip of the sound would probably help if you could provide it
