2014-15 Hood Air Extractor
Question for those of you with 14 or 15 SSs. As you sit in the driver's seat, is the back end of the extractor sitting flush against the hood or is there some daylight in there unlike the other three sides that are flush? Mine has about 1/8 inch of space. The other three sides are right against the hood. Just wondering if this was by design or is it a cosmetic flaw with my hood. If it is a flaw, I am getting my first oil change tomorrow and will bring it to their attention. It looks to me like it may be a flaw. If anyone can take a picture of theirs, I would appreciate it.

No space on mine either. Just maybe 1/32" from the foam gasket. Take it off and check whether the assembly monkeys might have let your gasket roll up underneath the rear lip as they put it on?

Thanks. I hope they don't give me a bulls**t story tomorrow and try and tell me that is the way it is supposed to look. I went by this morning and tried to look at their SSs but unless you are sitting inside you can't completely tell. Although it did appear from the side to be flush.

No problem, your dealership should get that corrected for you.

Mine has no gap either like the one above a couple of posts. But I have had mine off of the car twice doing my hood wrap. |

It is really easy... there are around 6 push in plastic fasteners holding the drip tray in. If you remove those you can access the bolts holding the heat extractor on the hood. The easiest way to remove them is with a trim removal tool, or similar. You can use a flat head screw driver and gently pry the center of the fastener up, then pull out the whole thing once the center has been pulled out. reinstall is just the reverse.
Takes about 5 minutes.
