ZL1 Wheels on 1SS Having issues.
I put a set of New take off ZL1 wheels on my 2010 CamaroSS in the spring. The steering has tracked funnysince i put them on and I am getting excessive wear on the outside Left front tire. i had the car aligned and everything checks out. Is there something I should have done to modify the alignment or front suspension to account for the wider tire and different offset of the wheel?

Nope, nothing special you need to do. I've been running factory ZL1 wheels on my 2010 SS for 3+ years with no alignment peformed since the car was new. It's a true bolt-on swap.
Been through two sets of rear tires (Goodyear Eagle F1's) and still running the original Vredestein's I installed up front. No abnormal wear. Maybe its your tires. What brand? Pirellis? Change 'em out for a different brand.

Nope, no alignment necessary on the SS.

Thanks for the info. They are the Goodyear F1's that came with the Wheels. cant figure it out. I am going to switch to Michelin pilots in the spring. I hope that helps. taking those wheels off would break my heart. I may give the ZL1 alignment a try and see what happens!

Don't take the wheels off and don't waste money on a "ZL1 alignment". It's probably a bad tire. Buy some new front tires. Yes, two new front tires are expensive, but you've got to pay to play. Keep the old ones as spares.

I have a question, I just got LG ZR28 replica ZL1 wheels. Due for an alignment. Do I get SS spec or ZL1 spec since I am running that size. 285 front 305 rear.

I know this thread is talking about factory ZL1 wheels and not replicas but got them brand new still on the box and was wondering what alignment I should be considering. I say I am due cause its been around 14K since my last with the factory SS setup.

Thanks for the advise. I am due for a new set of tires anyways (The F1's dont last very long and under 45 degrees they are down right scary!) I will however hold off on the alignment until I try a new set of sneakers.

I personally don't like the way 285 feel on the front. Follows every line on the road. Feel like my old skool 87 Elco on 15s by 10 inch Daytons. Had 265/35/22 prior to my zl1 wheels and miss the smooth traction and launches. Might just go back to my 22s

Have you tried switching the fronts, left to right ?
If the steering then feels strange in the other direction, then probably a bent wheel or bad tire. Quote:
Your narrow tires and tall & heavier wheels will tend to keep going straight. If that is what you are used to, then anything else will feel darty.
