built short block for turbo question..

I have a 416 shortblock ready and was going to add a turbo or turbos. Was think of getting a balancer to aide in protecting from vibrations..

Should I get stock size or underdrive?

I have a underdrive on mine.An underdrive won't affect the performance of the turbo's anyways compare to a supercharger setup.

Either way works. Underdrive may have better resale later, and shouldn't hurt anything.

Then again keeping alternator voltage/etc up is nice.

This... There is no real benefit to moving to an undersized pulley with a turbo set-up. These cars with all the computers and various signals needed for a start, stay with a standard drive so you don't have to worry about power loss, especially if you are going to be adding additional fuel pump/s, gauges and other power drain devices...

I've got a UDP on mine, I installed it when I was full boltons with the intention of going sc. I did have to bump my idol up to keep the volts right.

Now with my current setup it's not even noticeable, with the cam the idol is up anyway and when I want more power I just turn up the boost.

If your trying to get every last bit of power out of a FI engine and your turbos are maxed, then I could see justifying the part. But other than that, I wouldn't waste the money again.
