I believe NONE of this thread AT ALL. NONE.
Maybe I should call the dealer and ask for more info.

Doesn't take 2 weeks to align a car an they are keeping secret because you should have 2 pieces of paper what kind of loaner did they give you that is a long time i would be asking questions every day how much longer and you may not have paid any money but your mommy did sorry don't believe you can have tires wear like that and not notice

Yeah, I don't know. The last time I saw a tire that looked that was in a DIY shop back in KC that sponsored a drift club. They had a big stack of their old tires, looked just like the OP's.

Not saying he's been out there drifting or burning up the tires. Giving benefit of the doubt, the passenger side looks like there was a serious camber issue. But then the angle of the pics don't really allow for a full view. Also without seeing the other side close up, no way of telling what might be going on with the rest of it.

OP, glad you got it fixed. Keep an eye on those tires. Also watch for handling issues. A couple of quick checks you can do from time to time is to find some flat, fairly fresh road that doesn't have grooves in it. From 45 or so, brake firmly taking hands off the wheel. Does the car pull firmly to one side or the other? On the same road, accelerate briskly, not burnout style, just firm with hands off, does the car pull to one side? Also just cruising. Same thing. What you want to know is, are you fighting the car to get it to go straight, keep it straight? As most roads slope down from the middle, gravity will dictate a slight pull to the outside of the road. So you're looking for more of a sudden movement when you let go of the wheel.

I stated the above simply because you said the car didn't have drivability issues. Well, if it was that far out, yes, it did. However, perhaps, if you haven't been exposed to a car that was out of line, you did not recognize it. That's why there are tests for this kind of thing. Sometimes, you get used to something and don't realize it until you check it.

Please understand that this is a rather uncommon thing with these cars, and those tires look roasted. So conclusions are made, and stated. Also keep in mind that many of the folks on this forum have been in the car hobby for a long time and seen it all. Not to mention those that work on these things for a living. It looks like what it looks like, and they call it like they see it. Your situation is rather unique, and for me, I'd like to know what the issue was so I will know if happens to me.

But keep an eye on this. Somehow, your issue got out of hand in hurry. That one rear tire should have given you warning long before it got to where it did. It would've shown signs of cupping, and obviously wear. It got to the point of being truly dangerous, not only to you, but to anyone around you on the road. That tire was about one revolution away from blowing out on you.

With great power, comes great responsibility. These cars are among the most powerful on the road. They are precision built machines that require a little more care and understanding than you neighbor's Corolla. It is our responsibility to make sure the car is safe and sound, not for our own safety, but for those around us.
