NEED HELP!!!! ECU PROBLEM

I'm kinda new to this site and hope that Im putting this in the right location.

I have a 2012 camaro lt and a few months ago I purchased a stage 1 Jet performance modular kit that attaches to the ECU. Well during installation, one of the pins broke off of the ecu. For now I have it rigged up so that a metal pin is touching the ECU allowing it to start and there are no codes being thrown, but I need to fix it. I have called around and every dealership thinks gives me the runaround. I purchased an ECU off ebay that came out of the exact same model car and made sure the numbers matched when buying. But when I installed it, the car wouldnt start. I assume I will need to flash the ecu but I had planned on reprogramming it after my upgrades were done. So I dont want to flash it now and then spend another 300 to 400 later to flash it again. I do have an OBD2 cable but I dont have the right software to do it myself. I was wondering if I can take the rom off my current ECU and flash it to the new ECU. Or if I can get a new rom thats tuned so I can flash it over. I cant use my modular kit until I get the ECU fixed. And my current upgrades are Jet performance mass airflow sensor, K&N typhoon cold air intake, and Flowmaster exhaust. Wanting to get it all fixed up so I wont have any problems in the future and I want to be able to use the performance module. If anyone has any input besides how stupid I am for messing it up, then please help me if you can.

There is a Handshake in the ecu and BCU that is preventing your car from starting. Only way I know around it is to have the dealer program both units. Only way I got mine to work. I wanted to have a spare ecu with a different tune that I could easily swap out. Never got that to work.

Maybe i'm incorrect and if i am i apologize but i was just on the Jet Performance website and their is no Stage 1 Performance module that works with our cars listed for the v6 engine you basically bought something without really doing any research on the product i'm assuming the numbers and it's self adjusting was what sold you.

I just feel bad he spent all that money honestly. With a broken clip not sure if Jet will take it back either.

I did do research before I purchased it. But its actually the power control module.

And I also purchased the mass air flow sensor too

I'm not doubting what you got but our cars don't support those extra modules like you think they do you can most certainly plug them in but i doubt like NuttButt said you will get a handshake it's just simple not in the programming.

Well normally it would if I could install it to the new ecu and flash it with the correct rom. The way the modular works is by taking the info from the ecu and overriding it with Jet performance software. Ive done a little programming and my specialty is in computers and phones. Its kinda like rooting a phone. The phone may not support something with the blocks that manufacture puts on it, but with extra software you can get more out of it. Software controls everything and if you write the right code then you can make it do whatever you want. This modular kit is a plug in play adapter with software and analyses the ecu and adds its own software to it. Allowing you to get more performance without a custom rom on the ecu. I really appreciate your help here though and Im in no way trying to be disrespectful in my replies. Im just sharing my knowledge in how software works and how it allows the chip to read.
