Funny you should mention Z/28 and Forza 6 ... I had been playing with that before going to the track and one thing I learned is that the physics are pretty darn good going over the hill on turn one. If you brake or let off the throttle too abruptly the game shoots your car off to the right. In real life I kept the pedal planted and got up to 107 on that straightway. They guy in the 911 was up to 110. I wonder if BackEddy gets going faster on that straightaway.

Good times!
The Rfactor 2 simulator has the best physics out there.
Here is my cheater method of learning new tracks. They are really accurate.
Here is the basic idea but I don't use tap shift. The Physics are spot on as well.

Here is another great trainer GTR2 with something close to my set up. Another with very realistic physics.

The new gen Assetto Corsa with the Camaro Mod. Very good also.

Here is a real life vs sim side by side.

and just for fun.

The driving is really close also. These sims are really good for training, if you have the supporting wheel and pedal layout they are downright amazing.

The only thing I see that would give you a big pickup in time is your throttle pick up. You're picking up neutral throttle just before the apex and then waiting till about a half second after the apex before you start accelerating. Try doing both of those earlier. Pick up neutral throttle as soon as you get the car turned (use the nose-heavy trailing throttle to help get the car pointed), and transition to acceleration just before the apex.

For throttle pickup points, try hanging out with the corner workers a few times. The slow guys get hard on the gas when they're almost completely done with the corner. The quick guys pick it up just after the apex like you do. And the fast guys are on the throttle before the apex.

Thank you for his feedback. Going to add it to my log. Appreciated!!

I'm in the wife's car now and plan to watch this when I get home. 1:48 is great. I need to get there to give my boss a run for his money in his Cayman. ;-)

LETS PLAN on Laguna with BackEddy in 2016.

Todd, those videos are insane. I couldn't tell which pane was real and which was computer! Do you prefer Reactor 2 over Real Racing?

Rfactor2 is pc dedicated, I am not familiar with real racing. The best pc sims are Rfactor2, Assetto Corsa, and the good old GTR2.

Some of the tracks are laser scanned so they are pretty accurate, others are mods but built really close.

I will have to look into real racing.

Was a very full track day they had asked a few of us faster guys to bump up to open passing groups. I was cautious passing this guy as he was all over the place. Just cause you have a fast car dont mean you are fast. I think he should have been down a group or two.

He's no joke, his laps are so quick in the 1LE. I heard he got a new track toy (porsche) and he's probably over on the Porsche forums now...

Oh and Brian I think you are improving a lot. Looking forward to another track day with you and I agree we need to get a meet up of all of the local 1LEs sometime. When!?!
