if you're worried about what the ladies think, then don't worry bout it. i've seen women climb on my hood (oh god scratches) and take pictures on two different occasions. also have gotten laid quite a bit in the passenger seat.
if its speed however, (and if your neck can handle it), there's always the option to trade up whenever you want (or whenever financially capable). and this is a V6. remember, a car has to meet the 3 criteria: 1. fun to drive 2. sounds good 3. looks good

When I traded up to an SS I was actually more impressed with my old V6 and the mods I did to narrow the gap in performance. These are great cars no matter what engine is in it because Chevy got it right. IMO, the only downside to the V6 has nothing to do with actual horsepower and everything to do with what you intend to do to it & resale value. While you spend a small fortune on mods, the trade in value is cratering. If you love the car "as is" and don't intend to squeeze all the HP that you can out of it, you picked a great car and just enjoy the hell out of it. Who cares what anyone says. If you are looking to optimize performance on a Camaro, the SS is the perfect platform to start with. You can build a beast that will hold it's value much better than the V6. I think that is all that matters for anyone who is looking at buying a Camaro. Buy the car that suits your driving style, you can't go wrong either way. Good luck with your beautiful Camaro.

imo the only reason the Camaro has a 4 banger and v6 option is because of the government.
muscle cars should only have a 8cyl option, the only option should be, do i want the big v8 or the small v8, just like the good ole days |

![]() V6 Camaros outsell the V8 by a huge margin- the SS wouldn't be economically feasible to build at all without the V6 market creating a profitable platform.

My first car when was 18 was a '67 Camaro with a V8. Monstrous 327 2bbl, power glide auto, and single exhaust, lol. Didn't feel a bit of shame and big block guys didn't care either. At least I never received a letter about it, being the days before, internet forums, faxes, cell phones, and all.

Aww...it seems the poor cocky LS3 owners we have in this thread are finally realizing their precious so-called bad azz rides are no longer special anymore. It okay though, you can always trade up to a 6th gen SS.
Wow, you guys are really butt hurt by all of this. Look at all the emotional responses directed against me for stating what is an actual fact. The new 6th gen SS is literally blowing your doors off by knocking on 11's with just a drag radial swap and there is nothing you can do except dump more money for more mods. lol! Sorry guys, but it looks like the days of LS3 bragging rights is now over. Technology always marches on and the LS3 is now just a footnote in automotive history like the L98. It's time to "upgrade" to a "better" powertrain called the LT1. As for the lackluster reply stating that the 323hp of the 3.6L LFX is not so special compared to the competition. Well, perhaps if GM gave us 100% WOT below 4K rpms we would see an increase in power. Getting 350-360hp out of the LFX is not that hard to do. And, that is a heck of a lot more impressive to me than some old tech pushrod 6.2L truck motor making 426hp. I don't have to justify my purchase. I wanted the V6, not the V8. I don't care about racing some fool on the street to be first goon at the next stoplight or be the first car entering an onramp, I'll let the cocky LS3 owners play that game. |
