The Camaro is a "Muscle" car. Just from that statement alone you shouldn't be surprised that it is a beefy car. Beefy yes but cumbersome I don't think so. If you want something small and nimble buy a ricer. If you want American Muscle then the Camaro is the way to go although you should have went with the SS.

Good luck

If you want nimble you need to look elsewhere, whether its a pony car or muscle car its not nimble and its not advertised as such. Try a 370z or a mustang gt with tracck pack if you want nimble. Thats a pretty rediculous complaint you bought a 3800 pound car and its not nimble. Also cumbersome not really yes its big yes its different than my civic si for sure but i and others that have rode with me are surprised at it its turn radius and other things, its big but not as bad to get around in as it looks. I even thought parking would be a pain and it really hasnt.

First of all, it's sell, not sale.

Why do people come in to bash on someone who is just voicing an opinion? He's not even talking trash on the Camaro, he's simply not satisfied with what he has.

I think if it's the performance you're looking for, sell the V6 and go with an SS. If you're really not happy with the car, and don't think having an SS will make a difference then I'm sorry to hear that but it's not for everyone. Either way good luck

The dealer is trying to persuade me with one of the SS they just got in, but they want $43k for it. For that money, I can get into a nicer car. What happened to the bang for the buck the Camaro used to be? Also not happy with the performance times I got. 6.1 0-60 and 14.9 for the quarter. Those were the times I could get in my 98 Mustang GT with 75 less HP. Maybe I am just expecting too much from the entry level version. We'll see.
sorry to hear you are disappointed with your V6 Camaro. I think your performance expectation out of the base engine was a bit too high going in. Did you attend the SoCal camaro meet this past weekend? If so, do you think that seeing 8 out of 10 cars were SS had something to do with your disappointment now?

Anyone who'd buy an auto V6 should never complain about performance. The stats were out there to look at for forever, and the V6 HP is misleading...torque is what really matters.

I think it is fine if you want to get something else. But you are acting like these types of information ie 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile were hidden from you.

okay this thread is starting to get really irritating, you dont just come into the fan club for the car and start taking shots at the car. and if u think that car feels big then i feel sorry for you, god forbid u need to drive anything bigger then a smart car, coming from a guy who drives long bed chevys or a dumptruck i just cant fathom it. its been said before, its a muscle car not a sports car and dont forget it. i have no sympathy for you, your complaining about the v6 when you baught the car for performance. i know your intitled to your opinion but in MY opinion, you should have found a better place to post. but hey what do i know

i have a v6 camaro and went thru the same thing as you did wanting to upgrade to the ss, but here is my reasoning for keeping mine hope it helps you, you can add an exhaust and cold air intake, but i have a low vin number and its imperial blue with beige and sunroof and white rally stripes all factory this car will be worth it in the long run and in many years to come if you are a true camaro fan and what this represents you can change out the engine. so don't give up buddy hang in there this v6 is not all that bad.

Hmm... Some guys on here can be a little pushy. I won't be that way with you. I can understand how one could buy a car even thinking they would love it only to get it home and spend some quality time with it and find out it really wasn't what they thought it would be.

Fortunately for you, you made this decision on a car that is still hot and probably won't be too hard to get rid of. You could probably sell it and come out far better than trading it in so keep that in mind what ever you do. I think it's a good idea to try out the SS before leaving the Camaro behind completely. I've got the 1SS and love the performance of the car. Yeah, even the SS could handle a bit better than it does, but it is a 3800 lb. car after all.

If you decide the SS still isn't for you, you might want to consider a 370z (I'm not joking or being sarcastic...I love those cars) or a 2010 Mustang GT. The Mustang, while still quite heavy, doesn't handle like a heavy car from what I've heard. You might want to give that one a try. Also, in case you weren't aware, Ford is supposed to release their 5.0 V8 in the near future. That will probably put out somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 HP if I had to guess.

What ever you do though, DO NOT PAY OVER MSRP. Just look around, you can find a 1SS for MSRP...that's what I paid for mine. Good luck!

I have test driven a v6 Camaro and I thought it had PLENTY of power for everyday street use. Our Passat v6 AWD waggon weighs almost exactly the same as the Camaro and has only 190 hp and it is peppy and plenty of fun to drive. Yeah, the Camaro is heavy but it has plenty of power to move that weight around.
