Oil Change question
My oil percentage is at 35%, I bought it in June of this year with about 6,800 miles on and Im at 13,000 now, When should I change it? wait till about 25 percent? or now or what? what do you guys think?
Also, should I get my tires rotated and balanced while Im at it? Still have the stock p zero on them and since I bought the car with low miles Im sure they havent been rotated or anything. |

I have found that the OLM is pretty accurate. I generally don't let it go lower than 15% I get an alignment once a year when I get an inspection. Unless you have a square set up, you cannot rotate your tires. They are 20x8 in the front and 20x9 in the rear.

I change mine every 5,000 miles. Cheap insurance.
I am sure many others will chime in.

Depends on which oil you are using.. if just any oil than I believe when you are around 15% you drain.
I reset my OLM twice before I change my oil 12,000 miles, but I an using Signature series 5w30 with the amsoil EA filtr |

Thanks everyone for the responses, I guess Ill wait a little longer I guess Ill have to check with my dealer and see what type of oil they used. Not sure. Also, another question, is a little vibration in the steering wheel normal or what? I have a little vibration, not bad, but its there. When school is in session theres alot of pot holes and ive hit a few not hard or anything but didnt know if it could be that or the tires or what? If its the tires and I cant rotate them what do I do?

I know oil technology has come a long way, but I still go 3000 - 5000 no matter what the sensor says. I did get three years free maintenance & oil changes with my car. The dealership uses Mobil 1 synthetic in the ZL1. For what cars cost these days I'd rather change my oil a little more and use a high end oil. Amsoil is an awesome product too.

A vibration in the steering wheel is commonly, but not always a sign that one or both of your tires are out of balance. A vibration in your seat means it's the rear tires.
As for the oil, my dealer used a GM part - Dex-something, a semi synthetic 5W30

had? I never look at the dash % on my somewhat low mileage SS. If I had bought your car used I would have changed the oil the same day, and then kept track of it from there. I would suggest every 6,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. All JMO of course on your 3 year old SS. As far as your tires go, just keep them inflated @ 36 PSI.

I change my oil every 3,000 miles. Mobil-1 5W/30 & an M1-113 Mobil-1 Oil Filter.
