Tune???

I am thinking about getting my car tuned, AFM is a big reason. Range device and my car do not get along. But I am concerened. Has anybody had problems after tuning? Computer problems? Being stranded someplace because of it?

Thanks

Have people had problems? Yes. Are problems expected with a proper tune? No. Your computer isn't gonna die unless they try to do it.

Keep in mind even with the AFM/DOD turned off in tune the internals are still there.

Out of the thousands of cars that get tuned, there are a few that don't do well, but as stated above it is all about the tuner. I'm getting mine tuned from a guy who has come highly recommended by a number of fellow Camaro5 owners who have had their Camaros or other LS engine based vehicles tuned from him before. He is actually based in Florida, but comes up to Pennsylvania a few times a year. His name is Jeremy Formato and based on the distance from a Google search from him to you it's only about a 2.5-3 hour drive from you, depending on where in Naples you live. Good luck, and with an automatic everyone says that a tune is night and day different for these cars.

I had the Range Device on my 13 SS with no issues. I only have a CAI. I purchased an SCTX4 and downloaded the 93 tune. I no longer needed the Range. A forum member told me even with my cold air intake only my car would be better with a tune from Dyno Steve....all I can say is WOW! Car is unbelievable now. You should check him out. You won't regret it.

I am looking for a recommendation on a tuner in SW Florida. And you are correct we are about 2.5 to 3 hours south of Tampa. I used to hear a lot about Tampa Tuning but not much anymore.

I did contact Range Technology and they had me send mine into them for an update. It was good for a couple weeks then the codes started again. Do not plan on using it again. My car does not like it.

Trifecta tune! It's super simple to do yourself and you feel a HUGE difference in power. I've been using this company for years

Tampa tuning is still around just not on C5. Phil is one of the best and will take care of you. Out of the tuners i used when I lived in Tampa, Phil is only one Id go back to

This.

I got my SCT X4 from DynoSteve at RDP. He'll send you free custom tunes for bolt-ons if you purchase this tuner from him. My 11' L99 SS runs so much smoother. At first I was hesitant to turn off the AFM because of fuel efficiency... I'm glad I turned it off. MPG stayed the same, if anything a little better.
