5 years of tech make any test done back then not applicable imo.Way to many improvement across the board. I'm sure the same few would do well im just more interested to see what others can do.

That with the hood open or closed?
Numbers can be skewed with these open top systems by leaving the hood open on the dyno.
With the hood closed! We ran 3 test with the Z28 intake back to back, on the same day, numbers were consistent.

Some of you are treating air intakes like iOS updates lolllll.

In the last 5 years, the top dogs haven't made any significant changes to their designs at all. I'm not talking about fastener or screw design changes here.

If there have been any significant changes to the air intakes from 2010-present day, that you feel void the 2010 results, and/or also new players to the game (other than the Z28 intake), by all means, please list them here, and quit yapping .

Get some current results from today's current offerings ........and do it at a track.
Simple .....you really can't speak for any cai company out there. Alot of people bought certain cai based on that one test....if it's that affective for sales then let's have a current up to date test. I've already said the usual suspects will still be there. ...im just wondering what if any results the newer cais offer. So yep still yapping. .....next.

Oh, right!, these test aren't relevant any more cuz these intakes have evolved over the years right??

We cannot move on to "next", until you list what has changed from 2010, to justify a re-test.

You also write "today's current offerings", so that would suggest to one, as a reason #2, that there are many new players out there today, that did not exist back in 2010, hence a justification to re-test the entire lot.

For the sake of cross-shopping, can you list the new air intake models please?

You never know! Ask how many members here have the Z28 intake? I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Many on here refer to it as "one" test, but in reality, it was two completely different official tests, performed on two entirely different years.

I ain't defending Ted, just looking at the facts. He did update the test with a second one, with additition of hardware like scoop on the second one.

If the first test was that skewed, then one would hypothesize that the second one would have no consistent relation in terms proportions on a graph, particularly in regards to improvements due to addition of performance hardware.

Unless of course, the implications of fraud and conspiracy come into play, and hence what you are suggesting here. Just say it if that's the case.

Me personally, dare I say, I naively believe those 2 tests.

If someone believes otherwise, I can respect that, but I also say to those, man up, and perform your own back to back tests. I'll even "lend" my cai, as long as others lend theirs (if different make).

There is the Fast List as well. Some chose their air intake based on the results from the users in the Fast List.

I think your maybe thinking I'm not considering the 5 year old test....like I said the popular current choices will still do well ....im interested in seeing what's happened in the cai market since then.....this doesn't just interest me I cai....but headers....and other performance applications. Like everything else things get better with tech.....so if you want to include all the cais in the original dyno runs..go ahead. But include some current choices that may not have been available....like the z/28 sure... just because it says cai on the fast list doesn't mean it's CAI.

If the CAI wasnt $600 where I live I would have bought it based on those tests.

lol, I should have been more specific.

The way it's done is, choose a member in the Fast List, and whilst it does take some leg work, is to either research the members build, and/or actually PM them and ask for specifics.

Most are willing to help out and share.
