I'm a fan of sports cars so that's one of the reasons I never gave the 5th gen camaro a second thought. However, I kept seeing articles from motortrend, car and driver, jalopnik, etc. singing the praises of the 1le so I had to see what the fuss was all about. One drive and I was hooked. The 1le handled just as good if not better than almost every sports car I had before it while still maintaining that muscle car feel (best of both worlds in my opinion). The new SS is a great car but I'm sure many of 1le owners are not itching to make a change just because of it.

The grille is not very robust either. I was checking them out the other day and it seems like the material is brittle and will be beat up quickly from normal road debris blasting....

I'll make a bold long term prediction here, for the sake of fun, and I emphasize the word fun, that the '13 1LE'rs will be the most faithful to their rides, and hold on to them for the longest period of time.

Would definitely agree with that prediction.

Me too, went to the dealer last weekend to see it in person to see if I liked it. I did like it but for 54k. Not that much.

I prefer the 5th gen as well, but I suspect it could look really bad ass with a different set of body pieces (grills, splitters, ground effects, spoiler). A ZL1/Z28 version may change my mind about the 6th gen appearance. 5th gen is hard to beat though.

In all fairness, this is a very good point you bring up.

Sometimes it is truly the fine details that transform a car from ho-hum looking to a tasteful head turner.

Sledge is a good example of this I think.

I've been putting down the Gen6 on looks as of late, but don't get me wrong. I'm also down for a smashing looking, Gen 6 ZL1/1LE/Z28/Iroc, loll, etc, or whatever else they may conjure up mid-cycle.

We have a '16 SS - the Suspension is nice, but I'm not sold on the rest. For me GM didn't take the risks to really get the looks right and I'm still not a Fan of the interior

I like the 6th gen when it has the smoked taillights. I would take it. But from a previous poster who is the same height as me, I am not happy with hair touching the roof. I am so happy with my 5th gen I cant see me being any more happy with a 6th. When my 5th dies/gets totaled/rusts to the ground, then I will get a 6th gen...used.

6th Gen has more head room then our Gen 5 cars I believe.

PS: Ignore that. Looks to be less by about an inch on the gen 6. My bad!

I still love my 5th gen over the 2016

I've been in one, a Gen6 and it seemed to have less headroom and just less space that that em was me. Auto Show had two, a SS and RS to try on for size and I swear I have more room in my 2SSRS. Of course I had on a light weight winter coat with a hoodie underneath but hell I've had same on in my car and just felt cramped in the '16. Just saying.....
