As an aside, but still on the topic, if anyone is interested in joining the CCC club, as our membership is blowing up right now maybe we could get together next Saturday.
I think my wife will have to work, so we should have the house to ourselves for club stuff. I make some pretty good ribs and pulled pork sandwiches on the smoker. It will have to be a BYOB since I expect the crowd of caliper cover lovers to be in the hundreds. But I've got an outdoor kitchen with fridge and can borrow a Yeti cooler from my father in law. So if you live in the Houston area, I'm in Alvin. PM me if interested and I'll start a list, so I'll know how much food to buy. We need to get some ideas down for CCC stickers. My daughter is pretty artistic and my wife has one of those sewing machine looking vinyl cutters. |

I am really confused now. Is it o.k. to have caliper covers if they are the same color as your catch can?

It's always OK to have caliper covers. Or if you don't, you can have them in your saved shopping cart. Either works for us.

The caliper color thing is something I've been toying with for months. I'm definitely not a fan of the caliper covers. With that being said, for myself... I wouldn't spend the money or waste time painting calipers black. I'd just leave them the stock flat grey if that's the case.
I'm not a big fan of red either because 80% of People who paint their calipers, go for red. I'm either going to leave mine the stock color, or color match them to my "SS" badges. Which are inferno orange. To each their own and do what you like. Tacky to some, isn't tacky to others. I personally think any kind of aesthetic modding should be done in moderation. |

Caliper covers, VTCs, Lambo doors, glow ties, colored head lights. All the good stuff!

Absolutely nothing on a stock V6 or SS on the ZL1's i can see it causing issues. But i love how not a comment was made on my valid statement about the ugly V6 calipers and diverting the brake dust away from the outside of the wheel. I myself just painted mine black because i drive my camaro year round and that stock gray color looks terrible after 3 years of new england weather. I'm not gonna pay nearly $250-300 for something that does look a little out of place. But i'm also the same guy who went and put a push bumper on a camaro for fun so i dunno take it as you will.

there are so many bigger problems in the world right now - like: why does In & Out insist on building my burger all to one side, just to throw it in a bag and I have to rebuild it back at the office? They dont have to fool me, thinking its bigger, I know what it is, and Im going to eat it regardless...

Wore a set for a few months before I got my wheels. Had to take them off because they were going to rub on the Niche Milan's. Now that I look back, glad they came off. I would never put them on again... call it a lesson learned.
God forbid one of those should come loose... they were only held by two clips and two nut/bolt fasteners. They didn't look bad tho because I bought the black ones; |
