Swagner, consensus seems to be it's more of a problem with higher settings and with the ported throttle bodies. I've been running mine at sp 4 and 6 for a few months now with not one issue (knocks on wood).

I have a VTC on the shelf and plan to sell it. I loved it! However, with my PTB on the car, I kept getting put in limp mode. I did program it exactly by the instructions and it works for a little while, till the computer gets confused enough. The guy at VTC did say this could happen and I may have to not run it any higher than SP5.
I am getting my car Dyno tuned in March, so will not put the VTC back on again. I am not knocking the VTC, it works as described to work and is fun!
$140 shipped in the USA if anyone wants it!

Ok, I don't have it. Thanks!

Will do...hope to get time to do that today. Got in, started up, drove to work with no issues today except the engine light staying on.

I'm quite sure it was weather related. Have you started/driven the car since you limped it home?
LOL, that's what I think too! Yes, I started it up this morning and drove it to work (30 miles) with no issues or lights turning on, with the exception of the engine light that is staying off after yesterday's fiasco.

Really? What did they do to rectify it? And...what was the cost?

The engine light may stay on for a few days so the ECU can cycle through it's process and then turn off. I had the VTC on till I got the reduced power like you did. I took my VTC off and same thing with the engine light staying on. After a couple days for the ECU to reprogram itself the engine turned off, so give it a couple days and see what happens with the engine light.

Yea my VTC was my first mod like 15,000 miles ago

Been perfectly fine for me

Update: Drove home this afternoon from work, no ice, 28 degrees and did fine until about 3/4 way home, all the lights came back on. Think I'll make an appt at the dealership for Saturday. Hope it can hold on till then...

SP6, I do have a CAI

I thought about porting the throttle body but I don't see any real benefits unless I start doing big power adders.

Okay thanks. Yeah went and read the other vtc threads. Sounds like the v6 stock is pretty safe with it. Maybe if I got a tune I'd have something to worry about. But I think I'd wait a while for that
