Also, FWIW NOS is a brand, nitrous is the gas that is used to make the car go faster. I've used Ntrous Outlet, NOS and Nitrous Express throughout the years. I really like the Nitrous Outlet stuff. |

I have spoke with about 5 shops about timing. 3 of the shops are telling me I do not need to retard the timing with a 150 shot and the 2 shops are telling me I have to retard it. Can someone explain to me why these shops are saying different things?

Also from the PDF document: "The NX nitrous system is so advanced, (technology, engineering, and workmanship) that huge amounts of timing retard is not required" Maybe this is why some shops are saying that you don't need to retard the timing. I am not trying to defend these shops. I am just making sure I do this correctly so I don't blow up the car. |

When I was bolt ons with a nx plate kit my car knocked on a 100 shot on 93 octane with no timing pulled. If someone told me to run 150 with no timing pulled I'd laugh in their face and tell them to **** off
Nitrous universal rule of thumb is pull 2 degrees per 50 shot as a base timing setting

Yes wire the lnc 2000 to only pull timing when nitrous is armed. Turn off nitrous timing goes back to normal. Great product

Will the NOS Mini 2-Stage Progressive Nitrous Controller replace the need for the LNC-2000 to retard the timing?

No, it only controls how and when the nitrous is activated.

Nitrous outlet system, headers and a tune by dynosteve@rdpmotorsport.com the way I went. Super happy with an 11.24 at 123mph. Only other models is rotofab cold air intake with scoop. Didn't need to take out timing by adding 2 gallons of race gas to be safe !!!! Thumbs up to all of the above!

Nitrous outlet plate kit, nos mini, lnc2000. 2 degrees out at 150, 4 at 200, 8 at 250. Some of you guys pulling 6 and 8 degrees at 150 might need to have your tunes looked at again.
Nitrous cars should not be tuned on the ragged edge of lean when using 93 octane as there is so much variation from pump to pump in the quality of the gas. 5th gens should be running something in the neighborhood of 23-25 degrees over the curve and 22-23 degrees up top when on motor and then letting a system like the lnc2000 pull 2 degrees for every 50 HP over 100 to keep detonation risks low. At the same time, stepping up your plugs will help a lot too, but you can actually go too cold and start losing power there. TR6 for a 100, 7 up to 200 and 8 up to 275 has been what works best in my personal car. Your mileage may vary, but tuning with a wide and and a knock sensor should show no knock retard and plugs should read clean after any pull. Remember that to read plugs you must shut the engine off after the pull and not let it idle as this can wash away detonation speckeling.
