Gah! And I got in the car this morning, and it flipped back to the ipOD!? I thought SW ID: CD was supposed to fix that?

I think that is the latest we can get a hold of. I think CE is supposed be installed at the factory now but haven't confirmed it.

CC? Really? What are the last 5 of your VIN?

Maybe I won't wait for the CE release if they aren't even using it at the factory yet.

I've sync'ed both to the bluetooth system in the car and both phones work through it, but sometimes we have to manually select the phone or we end up calling with onstar.

Example:

I drove the car yesterday, while she was at work. The car picks up my phone and will dial without using the onstar # just fine. Today, she takes the car while I'm at work. But when she calls me, it uses onstar instead of her phone.

She can go manually select the device, but shouldn't it automatically pick up her phone like it does mine? I can see having to select which device when both are in the car, but not this...

Thanks!
Are you also connected for Bluetooth streaming audio to the PDIM?

Codeman!

Hey Codeman,

Great to find someone that can hopefully help me on this forum! Does the bluetooth sync with the contacts on the iPhone 3G? I had a rental car with BT that said the name of the person who called and showed the name on the radio screen. Is that a feature on the Camaro or am I just wishfully thinking? Second, when I try to make outgoing calls it recognizes everything I say as either "help" or "cancel". Apparently only one person at the dealer knows how to check into this and naturally he's not in when I can get there! Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Monty,
I went back and re-organized my music on one of the new VX NANO 8GB micro USB Drives. I set it up just as you said yours was organized. This resolved my issues with having to unplug and reinstall the USB each time I started the car. But it does now give me the same issues as Scourage was having:
1. Always switched to USB when starting the car.
2. Indexes each time you start the car.
3. Sometimes it will finish the last song playing when shut off and other times will play the same song it started with.
4. Always reverts to non-random mode even if random was selected prior to shutdown.

I can say I don't always remember to turn the random feature on and I'm still learning the browse feature. Still haven't had a chance to schedule "The Car" in for the PDIM update, but I'm still playing around with it to ensure I have all the problems identified first. Thanks for your input, that was a lot of help.

Homer,
I checked the update codes and they are HWID CB
SWID CC

All things considered this is still one awesome car!!!!

Wyle - sounds like our systems are working exactly the same now. I also have CB hardware, CC software. My dealer doesn't know what to do about updating the software unless they get a service bulletin from GM about it.

1. has been fixed in newer firmwares (CD or CE),. The rest are all known issues that will likely never be fixed. codeman said they don't have enough memory to fix them.

I got my PDIM upgraded this morning, but forgot to check the latest software version before coming into work. I'll look later on today. My previous version was "CC".

The tech knew "exactly" what I was referring to, and explained to me that the latest update was more-or-less for additional hardware support (ipod, mp3 players, etc.).

I'll post the bulletin he gave me later today.

EDIT:

HW ID CC
SW ID CD

Here's the documentation. Sorry for the file size.

At first my dealer had no clue what I was talking about. They had to get the shop foreman involved to find it. Turns out they'd never done this type of update before. At least I finally got mine updated to "CD"

Thanks Codeman! Hope you had a safe trip back from LA!

manually reconfigured the audio system

I thought I just got my PDIM upgraded a couple of days ago. I printed out a lot of information from this thread and brought it into my dealership. However, I just checked to see what software version I have and it’s still CC. The technician did install some software upgrades to my audio system because; every time I start my car now it says searching for devices and it never displayed that before. The problem I had before was that my Zune player would only work intermittently and now it seems to work fine. The technician told me 2 things. I think he said he ran a diagnostics program through some port located underneath the steering wheel and he manually reconfigured the audio system, so maybe he didn’t do any software upgrades. Anyways, my Zune player seems to work fine now. If any new problems occur I definitely will make sure to get the CE software update when that comes out.

My dealer's service dept insisted I had the latest PDIM SW load - so I asked "What is it?" The tech showed me CVN listings for my car but not the PDIM load - so when I brought him to the car and held the menu button down when using the iPhone the SW version came up "CC". I then pulled up this thread and showed him it should be updated to at least "CD" ("CE" is still not available). He finally found it and I verified "CD" before I left. What was aggravating is that I told them its a 50 minute up-date and if they had trouble finding it to call me - that was at 8:00am today (I was having other service done as well & stayed at the Dealer). Then at 10:15am they say the car is ready and then tell me I was on the latest release which started the above sequence... I finally got out of there at 12 Noon.

To add insult to injury I told them I had the loose spoiler nut, to fish it out and apply that TSB. The service desk didn't write down the nut was loose, tech didn't hear or think "Duh, if I have to replace a nut maybe there is one rattling around in the trunk lid" and you guessed it - I didn't check before leaving but did when I got home - same loose nut. I called them to ket them know they didn't do it yet I had even typed out the service items I needed done. Whew.

I can't fault the Service Dept on the PDIM update - all this should be automatically linked to our VIN#s and when an update is available it should be flagged. I'll see if "CD" helps with my iPhone USB issues.

So a word to the wise - look in this thread for the relevant info on finding the update - a newbie dealer will need all the help we can give them.
