.............................I'm confused, these are the best pics yet,but why the sudden hostility. I'm not reading through 11 pages, but why suddenly are a few people down on the car? Unless i'm missing something, the car looks the same, except for the headlights,as every other pic we've seen, what's the problem? I think it looks awesome,it looks mean as hell, and i am eagerly awaiting production pics, this car is going to be a major home run for GM.Love it,love it,love it.
When i was 16,i bought a brand new bright red '95 Camaro V6,prettiest car i've ever owned,i would love to buy a new bright red SS to right that V6 wrong so many years ago, although that lack of V8 back then is why i'm alive today.
But seriously.............why the sudden hate??

I'm starting to see "front-end consistancy" with the grille and headlights in these newer images. Looks like this might be the production vr. we're looking at....

Ok, I'm finished LOOKING, I'm ready to drive!! WHO'S WITH ME!!!!!

Ditto that. When the 4th gens came out, I had an 85 Camaro and I wanted to love the new one, but I heard a lot of people, including myself, saying that back end is too rounded, the taillights look like jellybeans, its not as aggressive as the 2nd, 3rd gens. I bought a 93 and loved it. Far superior car to the tired, rattle-trap 3rd gen that I had and I came to love the styling. Then when the first pics of the 98 Camaro hit the scene i threw up in my mouth a little bit at first because I felt like now the front end is less aggressive, looks like an early 90s Taurus, etc. Bought my 99SS 'vert. I've had it over 9 years and still love it. In every case, once you see it in person and get used to it a little bit you sort of "GET IT" more, in terms of the styling. Something new is always going to have its unique identity no matter how 'retro' and along with that a new feel to its styling. When you take some time to take it all in, get used to it, and See It In Person, you see it and Appreciate it more for what it is.

Personally I'm looking forward to the day when I take delivery on my 4th Camaro, a 5th gen. Thanks to the whole team at GM for doing an outstanding job and for being as passionate about this great car as we are.

The Camaro is being marketed to a WIDE array of people. Men, women, black, white, young, old etc. etc. If they targeted enthusiasts they would be leaving 90% of the market out.

The old mighty dollar, that's the only thing they care about. You are kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Soooooooooo--- Mr. Flaguy..........

I'm wondering to myself how long you've been on this site and how much you really know about the development of the new Camaro.

Ever hear of the "Camaro 12 Disciples of which there are 15?"

Based on your note above, obviously not.

(I'm now modifying this post -- after reading the last two pages - and thanks, Tag!!!)

Now -- to the rest of you.........

I've been in at GM for 31 years....and in my family's dealership before that. (yes -- I'm ancient...)

IF the biggest problem we have with this car is "I don't like the lower grille" -or- "I hate the backup lights" or "they should have left the gas cap where it was" -- I am Ecstatic!

It's when about 10,000 people say in unison: "the entire car looks like it fell off a train at 90mph" --that I get worried.

I very much remember how people carried on in the show room and in the mail sections of magazines when the 2nd gen Camaro came out. You'd have thought we'd taken a Rolls Royce and hit it with sledge hammers the way some people ranted......................

...........................................and yet it was the most popular generation in terms of total numbers built! It won all kinds of awards.............

So.............I'll say it again - calm down! Passion is good! But wait until you see the car IN PERSON -- and walk around it for a while -- and then make your decision.

One last note: The pictures from the past couple of days are of vehicles NOT COMPLETE -- and some of them are a mixture of both V6 and V8...............

You know it makes me chuckle now and then reading these threads because I have to deal with the same stuff at work now and then.

I'm designing something new and Management and Sales come by and say they "must" show the customer what we have in the works even though its unfinished. So of course I'm telling them...well make sure you let them know that its a prototype and we are still working on X, Y, and Z, "not for testing," etc. And they say "ok ok"

So, like every other time, they give it to the customer's sales guy, he gives it to his engineers, and a week later we get some feedback saying: They don't like it. They tested it and the X, Y, and Z are all wrong and now they have serious concerns about the product, la la la. and I just shake my head and have to remind them again that "ITS NOT THE FINAL VERSION."

Well anyway, I think GM is taking a huge risk letting us see all this preproduction stuff and I think it took a lot of balls and a lot of respect and appreciation for the faithful to make that decision. For the haters and the doubters I say respectfully: Don't forget that you still haven't seen the FINAL version.

All I know is I love my Camaro and will own one no matter what because I know these pictures are of TEST CARS and are not exactly production intent. Scott knows what hes talking about and I will believe what he says that we will be in for surprises. Well I'll be back toward the end of the month when people who SEEMED loyal to the 5th gen maybe won't gripe about minor, minor details. This was not aimed at anyone in particular.

when i saw the pictures for this car, i was blown away. My girlfriend (i was at her house when i saw) spent the next 20 minutes trying to gain my attention back.

impossible.

i thought the car looked amazing, and the minor things i didnt like, would surely grow on me. And in a hypothetical world of hate, i could always change something out. Im excited to see the final product, and lets see some final interior pics!!!!
