That end hooks to the intake manifold, but that was replaced with the blower. So it just runs back to the mufflers. Leaving it like it is doesn't cause a vacuum leak. It just goes no where. The blower probably doesn't have a spot for it since they were designed/setup before NPP was even an option. It can be T-'d into a vacuum line, or left just like it is since he isn't using the NPP.

Just so I understand there is no way this hose can cause this CEL code correct? If so, what would be my next step in figuring out what is causing the random CEL light to come on? I have already checked my plug wires, plugs are new (installed when I got the maggie put on), I would think my tuner would be able to see that my injector(s) were bad or going bad when they tuned my car correct?

Was there anything else installed with the blower?? Cam? Check resistance on that plug wire, pull that plug...did they change plugs when the install was done to a colder plug? Just a couple of things to check quick

Pop valve cover and look at springs. Swap injectors/ plugs/ coils and see if the miss moves with the part. Do it one at a time to see what is causing it. Do a compression check to make sure the cylinder isn't damaged.
No tuning wouldn't be able to tell if an injector is bad, or not matched, or that it got damaged any time inbetween.

Unless it was hooked up in back of blower and blew off under boost. My boost gauge hose on my whipple did that and caused a lean misfire code. Clamped hose on end of problem. Check for a open nipple in back.

Like I said, find out if it was hooked up. Talk to your installer or look at blower instructions. If it did come off it needs to be plugged back in, but it may have just been laying there not causing any issues since the blower was on.

This is pretty simple. If you want the NPP to work, you hook it up to a vacuum source. If you don't care about NPP, you can remove the hose and just cap the hardline. The NPP is controlled by the FPCM (fuel pump control module) and it doesn't do any error checking on the NPP and that is why there will never be a CEL (check engine light) when the NPP fuse is pulled or you remove the NPP and go to a non-NPP system.
It would be nice if the installer had capped the hose or hooked it up to a vacuum source. The check valve you see there will keep the NPP vacuum tank from blowing up when you go into boost You can find the NPP vacuum tank on the passenger side frame rail in the back of the car, just behind the rear rear tire. If you go to my Sale post in the Texas forum / marketplace you can see the NPP stuff taken off the car in a plastic bag for reference. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I capped the hose and all seems to be well. Car seems to be idling smoother as well. I will report back if I get another CEL.

Well I finally found out what the cause was for all the CEL's I was getting.. While checking the plug wires I saw this little guy, looked at the install instructions and saw that it is supposed to be capped but mine was not. $2 cap later no more CEL's / stabilitrak lights, or rough idles..
Thanks guys! ![]()
