I almost bought an elite e2, but then decided on a Mighty Mouse.

Interesting. Looks like you end up venting the excess crank case pressure into the engine compartment. Which would hopefully be cleaned by the filter on the top. I have a feeling this may throw off the A/F ratio a little? You're venting air that the MAF thinks is in the engine somewhere. So I think you'd run slightly rich maybe?

I run a Mickey Mouse on the right and a Minnie Mouse on the left. Thinking of installing a Goofy in the middle.

Phastek catch can

I bought the Phastek in satin finish. Works fine, fairly easy install and priced the least. Why pay more?

True, very competitively priced. I'm not sure if it will perform as well as some of the others mentioned, though. It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like it only has the screen with circular holes in it? The greater the surface area and smaller the voids are, the more the vapor will condensate. This is why some of the more expensive catch cans use a steel wool type material. Large surface area, small voids. Although it does look like there is something in there.

If you look at elite's picture, you can see the flow pattern. I can't tell from the Phastek, but it looks like the air "short circuits" and goes in then 90 degrees out, vs the elite which has to go around the media.

It probably works well, though, and definitely much better than not even running a catch can.

Yeah not sure what's inside the Phastek. Tried to unscrew it and have a look but it wouldn't budge and I didn't want to take a vice and channel locks to it. At first check it had about a table spoon of oil in it just after a couple hundred miles.

Same with mine. Pretty crazy stuff, seeing how all of that would've gone through the intake manifold into the engine. I've gone about 400 miles on mine, probably time to take a look so I can get a good judge on how often I should empty it.

Yes you definitely don't want it to overflow!! I'm still watching it but I think every oil change should do it.

If you run your car hard or if you track it. It is best to check it quite often. Just what I do.

I drain mine every 5000 miles and the RX cc collects 7 ounces.

I've got a new RX Catch Can and there isn't a single thing wrong with it. It catches a ton of oil, and is built VERY well. Tracy, a former RX employee gone rogue, is very bitter and is slinging all kinds of rumors about RX's products, and it's nothing more than bitterness. I got booed right off of ModernCamaro for supporting RX and bashing Tracy for his attitude, so don't let the rumors get to you.

I personally endorse the RX Speedworks catch can, and can say that the Elite Engineering catch can is also very well made. The main difference between the two is that on the RX catch can, true -AN fittings and one-way check valves come standard, and RX offers a braided stainless steel line upgrade option.

Why pay more? Until we can get a look inside and verify that it's actually using proper condensation and separation methods, you'd be paying more for proper oil collection...which is a pretty good reason, if you ask me.
