Why would anyone "fork over $35K" for a car without first taking a test drive.
I don't quite understand that.

The OP could have avoided his disappointment if he had just taken that step.

At this point either a majority or a large minority of 2010 Camaro owners never test drove their cars. We ordered before production started and rolled the dice. Most are happy, a few aren't.

You should have stuck with a vette. I personally will be very happy with my choice.

Different cars, hope you end up with something you like. Corvettes are just a totally different experience. The camaro is quicker than a lot of cars, but it isn't violently quick, like you said. If you need that adverb on there, than go back to a vette. Hope it works out for you.

i think to many people put to high value on mags and what others think is right and wrong with cars. its up to each person to decide what he or she likes or dislikes about the new camaro. just have to tell u that i love mine would not trade it for any other car.

3. Ahh nothing like mountain roads for that great ear popping feel... What..what is that? Sway bars/suspension and lowering your car about 2 inches? ( heck, you would be able to carve curves so well it would make Kim Kardassian blush)

Sorry, I just thinking out loud, and I have this sickness where my fingers type out what I think...

Yeah let me dump another $5k-$10k into my car to be able to turn properly in the monutains and go faster. There are cars in the same price range that can do what I need without having to drop a dime in it. "What...what is that?" Nissan 370Z

Sorry, I was just using my head. I have a sickness where I ue my brain to think logically...

Good bye, hope you find what you are looking for. We bought our 2SS RS 6M for fun on our cruises. If we want to we can also take the '06 Corvette so we have the best of both worlds. Two very different cars but both look and run fantastic.

I live in the Northeast in NY where there're terrible roads and the Vette with its leaf springs are just too much for them. The Vette wallows too much on these types of raods and makes it very harsh you needs nice flat groomed out roads to truly enjoy and appreciate the Vette as an everyday driver!

Doesn't that include everyone who ordered last year??

As for the car feeling like it weighs more than it does... no i think it feels like it weighs..3,900 pounds. The 1998-2002 Z28 was listed by all the magazines at 3,442 pounds. I felt comfortable calling the last couple Gen's sports cars. To the point that these cars weren't meant to be sports cars like the RX-8, well i spent many years in 3rd gens, and they felt fairly light. They didn't feel like a tank. The 5th gen is obviously "GT". I was taken aback by the weight when the stats came out last year, and others said it didn't matter. Well, when you get over 3,500-3,600 pounds in a Sports Coupe it sure does effect the feel of the car. The weight is the major reason i would not order one without test driving it. I love Camaro's. I've spent almost all my driving time in them. Even if the weight turned me off, i'd never buy a Challenger or a mustang. I just hope when i finally drive one it's not too bad.

I didn't put any stock into mags articles until i drive the car and saw what they said was true.

LIke a few have said the car is designed to be the middle of the road, overall kind of sports car...the platform is there to do or make whatever you want it to be!

You need to accept the car for what it actually is...or do the mods that will make it what you want.

Not knocking you opinion at all...just saying that what you are asking for is a $40K plus car and GM didn't build a $40K plus sports car...they built a mid $30K sports car ready for you to decide what you want it to be....or, love it for what it is.

I don't think he's talking about modding it to get more skidpad g's. He's talking about the weight. Hopefully GM can fine tune it to make it feel lighter than it is. Maybe they should ask ford for help. I'm beginning to think they know how to do it better.

The op mentioned a 370z more than once sounds like that's what he wanted all along. I love the 370z and considered it briefly before I realized they were gonna start building camaros again. I love my camaro I have never owned a previous gen other than my 68 which was given to me by my dad and rarely gets driven. So I'm not a hard core enthusiest but I have had a love of camaros all my life. I knew this car was gonna be heavy, I knew the view was limited, I knew everything I could about it because I can read and do research. It's lived up to what I expected, sure it feels like a boat at first, my last car was a civic si. But the more I drive it the more i love it. Nothing wrong with the op's opinion but I get the feeling he was expecting something out of the car that wasn't advertised. GM got it right period!
