580 to 455 isn't as simple as it looks ...

compare stock dyno numbers and 1/4 mph will see the spread is quite a lot less...

Compare power to weight ratios first.

I have to recant my initial statement, after hearing Al O, the new 1LE wont be fast enough to take on the ZL1. Should still be a good show!

The ZL1 would weight 4700 lbs before the power to weight ratios were the same

Very Interesting Zyborg. Would you please share the link were he mentions that.

I was thinking that probably on a short thight track the winner could be the lightweight N.A. 6th. gen SS 1LE, and on a longer track with more straights the advantage should go to the S.C. ZL1 power.
I guess our voting was more toward emotional thinking than based on logic.

Although 3 seconds is a great inprovement, it wont be enough... I was hoping for a 5 sec improvement...

LOL. Calling the 1le "lightweight" compared to the zl1 is like comparing how fast a 400lbs man runs to a 370lbs. The 1le is just lighter then the zl1...and not lighter enough really. You can compare the track times of the stingray to the zl1 to see what a real weight difference means.

I think the more turns the better chance for the 1LE... this makes for a good discussion based on the last 1LE http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323450
