Max nitrous to spray

I'm currently spraying a 150 shot pulling the fuel from the rails. I just bought a dedicated fuel cell, and was wondering if I could up the shot to a 175 or 200? I know the fuel will be able to supply the necessary amount, I'm just curious about the motor.

If I keep it at a 150 shot, will I gain any horsepower from using C16 in the fuel cell?

The motor is not the weak point for nitrous. The tune is.
Detonation is the killer of all nitrous motors.
Stock ls3 motors can take 300+ HP of nitrous. It's just about pulling the right amount of timing with the right fuel and plugs to keep it safe.

300 max on stock bottom end and tune has to be absolute perfection. I think 200-250 is the sweet spot if you're going for big power on spray with a stock bottom end. Withe C16 in the fuel cell you could probably run a little more timing and pick up some power on the 150 hit.

So upping it to a 200 shot should be fine?

As long as you are using a dedicated system like you have to ensure good fueling, and your tune is on point then yes a 200 is no problem at all. Make sure you pull a little more timing and monitor everything on the dyno and tuner can make adjustments as needed.

On a 200 shot 1 bottle isn't going to last long at all just a heads up. If you're out racing make sure you have a 2nd bottle to swap it out with after 3 passes or so. Or just run two bottles at once and that will be much more consistent.

I might just keep it at 150 for now, and get used to that. I still haven't dig raced it on bottle yet. How much should I pick up from switching over to the fuel cell with c16?

I wish I wouldve went with the dual bracket, I might sell mine and buy it. How do you hook up it so you can run both bottle, a 'Y' fitting?

Yes y both bottles to your line you ran. You're not going to pick up much on the same tune running the standalone. The c16 in the tank will allow higher timing to be run and that's where more power is made with the tune.

Depending how much your stock pump was dropping pressure with the standalone it might be a little rich up top now. Do you have a wideband to monitor afr and any way to watch if the motor knocks? If not I'd get the tune touched up or at least looked at especially if going to a bigger jet

So both bottles are open at the same time? Do I have to get 2 bottle pressure gauges or am I fine with just one? Sorry if these are stupid questions.

Yes I have a wideband. Once the fuel cell gets installed my shop was going to put it on the dyno anyways to double check all the AFR. Currently I'm on a 150 shot with 6 degrees pulled, I'm wondering if itd be better to only pull 4 or 5 degrees and run a 150 still or put the 175 or 200 jets in and pull around 7 degrees.

Each bottle needs a gauge on it the cheap small ones.

Put it on the dyno and dial in a 200 shot. You can always back down to a 150 shot or whatever later
