I put a ZL1 pump in mine, haven't finished the motor yet but I don't see how anyone could need reprogramming just for installing a ZL1 pump. It runs the same pressure just has the ability to flow more, and as said above, the HPFP decided what the rail gets and the in tank pump just keeps it fed. At least that's my understanding. I guess I'll find out when I get finished. Might not absolutely need the ZL1 pump but I don't like the idea of running the LFX pump on its ragged edge so I added it.

On FI 3.6 engines, the intake fuel pump is marginal. The way I know this is I monitor the fuel pump pressure from the tank and over 9 PSI of boost, I noted a small pressure drop from the stock tank pump of about 5-7 PSI. When I hit the 50HP NOS shot, the pressure would drop to 35 PSI, indicating the pump was maxed out in flow under these conditions. When I installed the ZL1 pump, the fuel pressure stayed rock solid at 42-46 PSI. No problem with in tank fuel delivery now. The HPFP in the LLT is marginal as well but fueling on my engine was never a problem because I fabricated a 4" MAF charge tube and had it scaled. Resolved the fuel issues. The HPFP in the LFX has more capacity and unless you are making crazy HP, you should be fine. And the Camaro fuel system is a return less system and no fuel is circulated back to the tank, the fuel pump control module takes care of controlling fuel from tank. I highly recommend a ZL1 fuel pump on any FI 3.6 engine. You certainly do not want to run on any ragged edge when it comes to fuel delivery and maintaining A/F ratios, very unforgiving if a lean condition occurs during boost!!!!!

I just wonder if I go this route it'll put me too far on the lean side of my canned IPF tune considering the port matched manifold, manifold spacer etc.

Wow, that seems super fast for a "custom" TT Build!
