Take your time, don't be in a hurry. Take your laptop with you and a power cord so you can watch and pause the DVD. Do it in steps, don't get frustrated, and most important take beer breaks once in a while. I did it by myself I think in about 4 hours.

Damn I didn't know this was a mod that could be done. Will keeping an eye on this. It would be cool to have blutooth and a rear end camera setup.

Yea definitely can be done, kinda expensive but honestly I hate those aftermarket kits and the possibility of so many problems plus the my link has a clean factory look

Oh, man. You guys are trouble. Every time I think I'm done with mods, an amazing post like this appears.

So... how much is the unit? Can it only be ordered from GM or are there cheaper alternatives? I have the Schosche kit and a Kenwood, but would prefer the factory look, I think. As well as restoring features I lost previously by installing the unit (USB, Aux in, Bluetooth, etc.)

You can buy it from Gen5diy.com that's where I & the OP bought ours. Cost was near $2,000 with the backup camera without is $225 less
