I'm waiting one someone to create a something like a hilux. Something that isn't over engineered and could be fitted with a small lift 2-4", with a solid rear axle front/rear though IFS would work, good towing, excellent payload capacity and a little diesel motor. If that happens I wouldn't have a reason to not buy one.

Needs to have the diesel!

I like it though, I hope they build it.

If this is a ZR2, big props to GM. The era of being risk averse might almost be over.
That looks much better than the spy shots from the other thread.

Glad to see this coming!
Yeah it almost looks like they forgot to lift the front lol

I hope this is as close to the concept as possible. That thing was sweet looking

If you NEED big V8 for towing, you need a full size truck. That only leave the people wanting a sports truck with a V8, and that market is nearly non-existent. Now, if that does happen and they decide to bring back some kind of SS version, or an Xtreme, then MAYBE we'll get a V8, but still doubtful.

An Xtreme Colorado or Canyon with the LT1 would be extremely tempting to me to sell off my Camaro and my current Colorado for it lol. But that said, it would have to be a crew cab, and possibly even 4x4 to be feasible for me. No sport Colorado with the LT1 is getting 4x4.
I feel like it should get the LT1. The tail pipe looks like a gas engine exhaust. I don't know that the V6 has the low end grunt needed for an off road vehicle. Maybe with the the A8 and some aggressive gearing, it could be acceptable but the LT1 is always an option. Even with the concept ZR2, they showed it with the Duramax specifically because of the low end torque it put out.

They could pull a Raptor with a TTV6.

Does the LF3 make sense over the LT1

Didn't somebody from GM say it would fit? I think it was Reuss at the reveal.

Hmm interesting.

I'll be honest, I don't see GM making a powertrain change. The fact that a ZR2 will become a reality is insane enough.
