Test Drive
Today I finally test drove a Z28!!
The tires are awesome and the brakes are great. Sorry it was not enough for me to make the switch from a ZL1 to a z28. Put some tires on the ZL1 and you have created the DEVIL

I've been going back and forth with this. I've had my ZL1 for two years and love it. Still, I'm drawn to the Z28 for the rarity and specialness of that car. I don't track my car so there's no real practical reason to switch to a Z28. From all I've read the ZL1 is a much better DD, which mine is. If Z28 prices keep dropping to the point where it's a zero sum game to switch over then I'd do it, but other than that I'll stick with my ZL1. I know the Z28 is special and I still want one, and I'm jealous of the folks who own a Z28 (especially those that got it during the 20% off sale). I'm also waiting to see what the ultra high performance 6th gen version will be like (sorry 6th gen 1LE folks, that car looks to be awesome and probably very close to current ZL1 performance, but I think the new ZL1/Z28 is going to be really special).

I too was going back and forth on buying a Z28. Probably keeping my ZL1 if I did purchase the Z28. The current prices are tempting but not enough to pull the trigger and buy one. What I did notice on my test drive is the Z28 does not feel as fast as the ZL1 in terms of acceleration, it does stop quickly with those CC Brakes though! I think waiting till the next Z variant Camaro will worth the wait!

I hear ya ... I don't get it either!
Go over to the Corvette Forum, there is no animosity between the base Corvette or the Z06. But here on the Camaro Forum, there are some very fragile egos.

Go fast, please.

The Z28 is slower than a ZL1, but handles better, so there isn't a clear cut winner. When talking about the "top tier" of a Camaro it would be a split between the ZL1 and the Z28. It is more of a preference thing for us versus an absolute winner for them. |
