Black decals in between side gills
A salesman was telling me he knew a guy that put black strip decals in between the side gill slits giving the illusion that there are actual holes there and he said it looked awesome. has anyone else seen or heard of doing this?

I put the silver fades on my ABM and they look very clean. Besides, if you don't like em they peel right off. Hate to actually modify car and then not like it. There are a bunch of styles out there now to choose from. Total cost for fades was $35.

I put Stripeman's outlines on over a set of black fades several weeks ago. Looks real.

Here's how to install. Easy, but time consuming.
Instructions: 0. TAKE YOUR TIME. 1. Clean hands and gills with alcohol and a lint free cotton towel. 2. Let dry COMPLETELY. 3. Spray install lube spray (4 drops DAWN dishwashing liquid in a cup of water in a NEW spray bottle) on gills. Don't be shy with the spray. You can get a new spray bottle for $1 at the dollar store. 4. Install 1st fade from the top down, using your finger as a squeegee. If it's off a little, you can SLOWLY slide it into place. 5. Repeat steps 3,4 until all fades are installed. 6. Let dey 30 min or so in the sun. 7. Repeat steps 2,3,4,5 using Stripeman's outlines. Be CAREFUL. They're fragile! 8. After an hour, mist with water and wipe off excess lube. The lube is just 4 drops of Dawn in a cup of water, so it won't hurt anything. After they are on about a week, you can wash and carefully wax after you check for lifting. Stripeman's gill accents: http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/jkhendo/ Enjoy the look! Last edited by patriotpa; 09-07-2009 at 10:58 AM. |
