VTC problem posts
Really haven't noticed any VTC problem posts in a while. Wonder why ... product usage peaked so hardly any new users? Product has changed? Just curious as last year it seemed you would see problem posts everyday.

Either people learned how to properly calibrate their VTCs, or the VMAX ported TBs saw stricter quality control standards.

That's because the VTC wasn't the problem.. I've had mine for over a year without incident. VTC is the best mod that I have done, by far. Ported TB,High-flow cats, Iceolater, Borla catback, AIRAID intake.

Overall, I've settled around SP5-SP7 for daily driving, and love the quicker pedal response.

problems occurred after the VTC install, so blame the VTC.
However I agree the VTC was not the problem, it only brought out a problem that in time would have shown itself. another user who had a problem, fixed it and continue to use the VTC without incident for 7 months. |

The only time I had issues, twice within a month, I was in the habit of driving in competition mode all the time. Stopped doing that and no more issues. Not sure what the correlation was, but whatever.

Installed mine in October 2015, set it to SP5 and left it there. No issues (other than throttle response being like it should have been from the factory)...

Installed mine 10 months ago, Set on SP9. No problems. I would say about 8-9 thousand miles on it.

I still have no idea why this product is deemed useful. All it does is tell the computer that your foot is pushing on the gas pedal more than it already is (unless I completely misunderstand the product..)
Am I mistaken in thinking that if you removed it, and just used a heavier foot, that you would get the same effect? Does the throttle have the same response at 1/4 throttle as it does at 3/4 throttle, once you install this thing? I would assume that there is a dropoff in response when the pedal is close to fully depressed, since you can only open the TB so much, and it's being told to open earlier in the pedal position than normal... Perhaps I'm wrong, but I didn't have any interest in the product anyhow. Guess I'm in the minority here. Good for the folks that like it, though. To each his (or her...) own...... |

![]() The system only allows for so much throttle at certain times for the purpose of preserving fuel economy and reducing emissions. This means that the blade will only open and close so fast on a stock setup. The VTC (and other controllers) change that to any adjustment range from 0-9, with 0 being stock, and 9 being pretty sensitive. If you think it's a waste, check out the testimonials, reviews, comments, etc. and ask yourself if THAT many people really just don't know how to press their gas pedal.

How do you know it's not for you if you don't even understand it?
