This is pretty cool, good progress. Something I'm not clear on, is the 80mm TB ported or no?
Also, as some people pointed out it's better for the engine when there is more airflow speed, but if you start enlarging the diameter of the TB too much then you lose air speed going into the chamber, as I understand it. So the result is engine won't perform as well in the low end until starts picking up some RPM. I've been following some discussions in other places and some suggest that anything above 74mm for a N/A 3.6L engine would start becoming a performance issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong Last edited by ir0nman11; 02-27-2016 at 09:44 PM. |

Just got an update. Throttle body and intake tube have been shipped, and my tuning equipment and E85 stuff will be next week.

Haha-Ill get the TB in immediately, do some back to back testing between the VMAX and the Overkill.
Then do the same with the tune stuff when it gets here. Then, after i get some datalogging in and a tune tweaked by Will, I will do stock/untuned vs tuned dyno runs before and after 80mm

Hey, I'm a man of a million projects! Blame the ADHD, lol. Coated/wrapped catless downpipes, Brembo conversion, custom sealed -true- ram-air box for mpd1 hood, gated shifter plate, custom carputer build, custom painted ABL interior panels, painted strut tower brace and strut caps, custom stereo frequency attenuation.....those are just the projects I've been juggling in the past two weeks while also working 50 hours a week for the government! ![]() Downpipes are at the top of the list though!

You guys happen to know if this setup is compatible with the lfx cadillac platform? Can't find anything on the other forms

In short, the intake manifold, yes... The Spacer, maybe (if you have room), but you will probably not be able to run with the engine cover. The throttle body, most likely yes. |

So if you bye the 80mm tb, does it come with all the nessasary hook ups, bolts, piping,........
And how well will it work with the extender plate, I'm sure a tune is in order for everything to work in unison. |

You should check out the overkill website or email Will with your questions. As far as I read on overkill website are these items will work without a tune but will work better with a tune. I had to get my own silicone intake adapter, but it depends on which intake you have on for what size you'll need. The 80 mm tb has a 3.5" clamping size and then whatever your intake is and which angle you'll want. There are a few people on this thread that are installing the whole setup and more. If I were you I'd see how the installation goes for them before investing much into this. I've got stuff in the mail now and I'm finding some are saying the 80mm only works well with forced induction. I will find out on my own dime now.
