Watkins Glen

Just registered for the HPDE June 10-12 at the Glen. Can't wait to track this car. Should be a blast. I barely fit in with a helmet on because of the sunroof and it puts me in kind of an awkward position but I figure I'll get used to it if I leave the seat like that permanently. Anyone else have to sit in a less than ideal position due to headroom with a helmet?

Yep, its terrible and I'm not even tall (5'10''), but all my height is in my torso.

After a full day of auto-crossing my neck is killing me because I'm wedged in.

I've tried every imaginable seating position where I can still reach the pedals and it is a lose/lose situation. The only way to make it work is to lay back like a gangster in my hoopty, but that doesn't allow me to be up on the wheel and handle the car.

Yes. Driving with a helmet sucks with my sunroof.

I would look a dedicated Track only seat. When you are on the Track, you need to feel as comfortable as possible. A weird seat angle or having your neck at an uncomfortable position is dangerous

Do you happen to know of any comparisons on seating height? I have searched endlessly and have never really come across a definitive seat and bracket combo/setup that provides a drastic seat height change.

I am very interested in this as well. I am looking to change seats and want to gain as much headroom as possible. If anyone has come up with a successful combo that increases headroom by at least an inch, please let me (all of us) know!

for me the main issue is that to fit with a helmet I have to adjust seat's back rest too far down, so seat's lateral support is basically non-existent (cause I don't want to lie in the seat). Someone told me that there is a "lower cushion" for camaro seat, but I couldn't find it.

I really wish you could swap out the sunroof. I'm literally in need of an inch. If I can't track the car without swapping out the seat I'll just get something else. Maybe Gen 6 1LE

How do you join the BMW club? Is that the only way to get track time? I've heard of others doing the same and not owning a BMW. I live not too far from Watkins and would really like to get my car on the track.
